My first machine, a Yanmar,SC2450, got a local price on it but didn't agree to buy it.
I then searched the web, more just for grins to check pricing before laying down the cash.
Found the same machine for $3500 less and delivered, one state away.
$3500... No contest, I asked my local dealer to adjust his price some, no way it wa happening. I showed him the price and told him all I wanted was some reasonable adjustment, split the price instead of losing the sale. His response was if you buy from the other guy you will not get any service from this company.
I purchased the tractor from the other guy, got my $3500 in my pocket, great.
luckily when I purchased the tractor the other guy included all of the service lubes for the 50 hour service and told me he can ship any of the lubes and filters and any hydraulic lines needed if I can't find them locally.
I never needed any more than the 50 hour service, I sold that one and now I just recently purchased a used Mahindra, one state away. I am hoping the local Dealer will accept me for service when and if I need it, seeing I just moved here from another state.
Ok, where is this going, one previous post mention righteous people spending other people money.
If I had setup a deal with the local Dealer, agreed on a price, I would have followed through with the deal, yes I would have approached the local dealer with a request to adjust the price, add an implement or two, or something to adjust the pricing to make up for higher price but I would have gone through with the deal. I would because I agreed to, that is why.
To me, I really don't care what you do, it is your life, your way, your tractor and what you pay for it but if you already setup a deal and you expect local service I would pay the price and write it off under service cost.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night !
lol !
