Also, with a positive ground system. which terminal do I hook the disconnect up to? How do I tell if its a positive ground system as well. I am not 100 percent sure on that but would like to know for sure.

Really doesn't matter, you are breaking the circuit either way. Which ever way it is easier/safer to install.

The switch you linked to that attaches directly to the battery works ok but not for very long. I would just disconnect either terminal and leave it off. On any direct current system it s safer to work on the grounded side first ,follow the cables see where they end up ...Trevor

I REALLY REALLY don't want to mess around w/ disconnecting it from the post every time. Why would it not work for very long? And which one? I linked to several.

See where they end up? So on a positive ground, the positive cable should be hooked up to the frame somewhere correct? But if the neg terminal leads to the frame then its a normal system?

I've used a 15watt solar panel on my skid steer without any problems. Also have a 5 watt panel on my 25ft trailer for the winch. Both batteries are full size. Trailer is a deep cycle and skid steer is a start battery. Finally after 5 years I have to replace the deep cycle battery.
