No. If it's got joysticks there is no foot treadle.

Right.

So if I've got this all straight, Case has options of:
3 stick/foot treadle (no E-hoe)
4 stick/foot treadle (with E-hoe)
Joystick no treadle -- What operates the E-hoe with this one?

If it's like the John Deere's that I've run then on the joystick there is a third lever for the e-hoe.

3 stick? Treadle pedal? Could you clarify for me?

I've run 2 stick and 4 stick but never heard of either of those

me too been driving JCB, Case,Cat since the mid 1980's and never heard of a 3 stick .

Took me quite a while to get used to slewing and curling bucket with feet in my drott after drining newer machines for so long lol

Must not have ran any case backhoes then. They are a 3 stick setup. Bucket, dipper, boom each with their own stick. The out riggers don't count but they each have their own stick. I think the k series case was the first one to offer a different option? Someone chime in on this because I'm not sure. I know the b, c, and d's I have played with were all 3 stick hoes.

All case's I ever ran were 2 stick including the 580b that I own now and an old 580G I used to have . extenders were always foot pedals .

New Holland also uses a foot treadle to extend the boom.

There are a lot of variables. And there are also a lot of operator preferences. I won't claim to be a master. The masters I've talked to claim to like the hoe operations on individual sticks for accuracy. Also claim to not like the treadles for swing. Joysticks are a bit sloppier and not as accurate, but tend to be faster. Don't hafta worry about controlling two sticks in one hand or moving hand from one lever to another. When it comes to delicate work, individual sticks seem to be more accurate. Understandable when compared to joysticks which might have linkage slack that translates to bucket slop.

D7E, the variances are displayed in your reference. I've never ran a 2 stick Case. Each manufacturer tries to please everyone with many variables.

I have to step in on this one.... I think, but not positive that the older Joystick models with an extendahoe use the same pedals on the floor for the extend hoe. I always call "Treadles" the Foot swing and still don't like them. The new Case backhoes use very short sticks on the Joystick models and are very precise. The extendahoe is controls electronically with a slider switch on the right joystick.

I never ran a hoe older than a k without the 3 or 4 stick so I learned something then! I didn't think they switched to the wobble sticks until much more recently?

I have a 1975 case 580b diesel 2 stick for sale at the moment .
