Can quick hitch for BX FEL be added later?

I'm going with the SSQA guys. My Brother had a Kubota 3240 that I converted to SSQA. He added 3rd function to the front of the tractor and was always "borrowing" my attachments. He even had a tree shear on it a few times. I'm a fan of an industry standard. SSQA is that standard.

So what SSQA attachments could he rent at the local rental yard that the BX could operate effectively? The Kubota QA and JDQA setup has a place in the market for these smaller machines.

Exactly. A BX can't make use of any standard SSQA implement due to weight alone. The Kubota BX QA is BX-specific and works great. I added it to my BX25 purchased the beginning of 2011. Besides working with the standard bucket, they have forks and a FEL plow for it, and now Landpride offers a small grapple for it with a 3rd function valve set up. For larger tractors, I'm all for SSQA and would go that way myself, but for the BX, this works fine. I'd guess that more aftermarket "stuff" will be made for it given the number of BX's out there already.

I think the other way and feel he is looking for a ssqa. That way you have a whole bunch of attachments you can either own or rent. The one off stuff is no good no matter if it is a green or orange system.

Yeah, I wish I would have known the downside of the Kubota QA system when I bought my tractor. The website and sales brochure says something like 'use it to quickly change between loader bucket, pallet forks and other attachments'. Well, great I thought. But, no other attachments. And SS forks are widely available and a lot cheaper than the orange kind.

Another "trap" is John Deere. They often sell their equipment with a European version of QA. Good luck finding any attachments that use that system without going to a JD dealer.

Yes, you guys are right-what was I thinking...
Add 50-80lbs of SSQA hardware so he can lift a 350-400lb fork set or a 500lb grapple made for a Skid-Steer when he has under 800lbs total lift capacity in the first place with the BX25 he is inquiring about.

The global/euro style aren't that uncommon, especially on tractors above 100hp (or so it seems to me) . The ones that are Deere specific are the real trap. I believe those are the ones you were thinking about.

But in all fairness, Deere isn't/wasn't the only one that made their own QA. Just look at all these adapters. (Not all are QA to QA, some are pin on to QA, but several are.)

Me like! On my Xmas list. I have been 'suffering' with my bucket moving a bunch of clearing debris to the burn pile, but have to admit, the BXpanded hooks and a Piranha Tooth bar have served me well. Unfortunately, if I hold off one more year, I probably won't be able to justify a grapple for the property I have. I hate it when I rationalize myself out of another tool I have to have. :confused2:
