Hmm, I gather the effect of the yellow flasher on the snow was more pronounced on the monitor than when looking directly. May be the way the camera and monitor handle the color, not at well as the cones in our eyes.

I, too, expected some effects from vibration, since I mounted the monitor to my polymer dash with screws, separated only by 1/8" of closed-cell foam. I can't detect any effect whatsoever.

I'll be curious to see your report on how the setup handles severe cold. We rarely go below 10 F down here in our area. I doubt it will be an issue for you, since the monitor will be as toasty as you are in the cab once the heat starts cranking. For the camera, I don't think it's an issue, although I may be wrong.

No snow today but cold. -20c. I turned on the backup camera and instant picture so I guess it will be OK.
My monitor is mounted on my windshield using 3M double sided tape so it gets tractor vibrations but pic is steady.
As to flasher yellow I accept that as normal as even w/o camera I do see yellow flashing snow especially at night.

There are wireless cameras on amazon. If you want to do a monitor on a budget I would get a regular monitor and wire it up so you can plug it into a cigarette lighter. Then when the tractor is not in use you can take it off.

One problem; the camera still needs to be wired! (and switched or as minor as the draw is, it will draw current)

Finally able to start installing the power rear view mirror and radio, still have to run the camera wires. :)

I use that missing mirror every time I drive into town to fill up!

The easiest way to run wires is to pope the cab top loose.

Yep I set the top off and makes it super easy to run all the wires for the cameras , hook up the radio, and wire up all the new led lights. I also raised the seat up a inch, and replaced the two bolts in the seat cushion to bypass the seat switch.

CB, what is the purpose of bypassing the seat switch in a cab tractor? With open-station, I can see how it would let you drive standing up for crop work and mowing.

Also, did you end up getting a camera without backup lines? Curious to know how well it works and how you like it. I like the backup lines for some purposes, but with a box blade, they make it harder to see the material in the box. Would be nice to have an on-off capability.

I had this idea for several months and ordered the Peak Wired unit from ebay. I mounted it on the quick attach on the front of the tractor to be used when I have the tree puller or grapple attached. Found out that the unit I purchased didn't display as clear as I was hoping for. So I will probably use it on my truck hitch and purchase a better one for the tractor.
Now that all the wiring is ran it will be a snap.

I was doing something with the forks the other day and had to raise up out of the seat a bit to see better and tractor died, didn't care for that so it had to go. :) of corse now that I have front and back cameras shouldn't have that issue. Yes the cameras I bought do not have back up grid lines, I didn't see a need for them for my use. I was impressed with the field of view on the camera pointing rearward, haven't had it outside in daylight yet to see just how well the quality of the image is but inside with the large bay lights it's not to bad , not for a 50 dollar setup. Least this way I can try it and see just how much I really use them and can decide if I want to purchase a higher quality setup.
