On my 6' rear blade in the spring I am going to mount railway track (the additional 160# should help it) to the concave side with hangers so it can be taken off for the winter.

I mounted an old concrete wheel weight in between the arch of the main frame of my 6.5 ft GB. Had it temporarily attached with a ratchet strap, till I found it was just what I needed to make it work. Then thru-bolted it to the frame after.

A hydraulic top link would do the trick.

I just draped my loggin chains on the back blade frame for weight. The plus side is I have the chains ready for something'.

The hydraulic top link will make the rear blade a lot easier to use, but it won't add cutting force like additional weight will unless you have one of the odd tractors that has 3 point down force - most float when lowered.

If you are looking to get better cutting action you could try adjusting the top link to angle the blade edge away from vertical.

Now why didn't I think of that. I'm gonna use that until I can get to the welding shop.
