Lifespan of a newer Deere tractor - how long do you expect your tractor to last?

Used to have a 1948 Farmall Cub. 8hp. I did everything with it- gravel, snow, garden plow, harrow, sickle bar mower. When I got it the oil was like tar. I rebuilt the carburetor, replaced two batteries (6v), two front tires, spark plugs, hydraulic oil (had hydraulics). and the magneto, and coil. The clutch gave up the ghost and I sold it. The engine was strong. I don't know how many owners it had had, but except for regular maintenance, I didn't see it ever wearing out. It put modern cars/pu's to shame for longevity.
I have a NH TC30 now with 950 hr. I'm the 3rd owner and 300 of its hours are mine. I don't expect the tractor to ever wear out. It is rugged and engineered to be solid. I keep up with the maintenance. It may not look pretty, but it runs well.

As far as I know, John Deere makes their own tractors. Some in Moline, some in Augusta and some in JD factories overseas. Of course many parts are from overseas.

Thanks for the comments so far guys! Just seems from reading here that a lot of guys trade in/sell tractors that are just getting broken in good! Wasn't sure of the why.....
Also wondering about how long the "new stuff" will last. I collect/work on garden tractors. I cut my Florida yard with a 1973 Deere 110. I had to paint/refurbish it and rebuild the engine, but it took 40 years of use/abuse before it needed that work. Also have a 61 Cub Original that was a hard worker until about 10 years ago! Lots of similar stories about older GT's. I am under no illusion that modern garden tractors will still be running and in that kind of condition 40 years from now! Like many of you, I have neighbors that have OLD simple big tractors that are their primary work horse, and have been for many years.
I know our culture has changed and we have become more throw-away than fix and rebuild. But do you think they are gonna be talking about our modern tractors in 40 years the way you guys are talking about farmalls and Deere B's and such? Many of you are holding onto tractors that were still built better than what we see built today "imo".
The new engines (aside from smog/epa) are better and will last - no doubt. But what about the rest of the machine? That's what I wonder about.

I had a Ford 1700 (Iseki diesel engine) that I bought in 1980 that served well for almost 30 years with a few early replacement parts (front axles were a problem). I traded it on a Deere 3005 in 2009 because I was worried about the rubber parts more than anything, although it tended to overheat mowing in hot weather presumably because the radiator needed replacing. Sort of wish I had kept it as a backup. I expect my Deere with a Yanmar engine to do as well. In the meantime my Kuboto B7100 bought by my father new in 1989 keeps on humming at 1100 hours - only had to replace the fuel tank (plastic) so far. My bought-used circa 2004 Kubota b2710 is a great workhorse, but I had to have an abused hydraulic cylinder replaced ($). Depends how you care for them I guess.
Hmm, how did my new Deere get to be five years old? Paid off this year though.

Unless somebody can prove me wrong, Yanmar is the engine in many JD tractors diesels. John Deere doesn't own Yanmar or the other way around.
It wouldn't surprise me much if John Deere had a company make a model or two, but I really doubt it.

Yanmar makes the 2 series, otherwise Deere makes them all themselves now.

- 1959 MF-65 sold, 2007 Jinma 554 diesel.
When I sold my old MF65 (1959) it had over 12,000 hours on it. I adjusted the valves on it during the time I had it and found that the engine had been rebuilt at least once. Everything worked so for it's age it did well. I sold it because of the hassle in getting replacement parts - more often after market than MF (Agco).
Anyway, I know it wasn't a John Deere, but the older tractors generally, were built to last - whereas the newer ones probably won't last as long as the old MF65 I sold.
