Enjoying the pictures. Simply beautiful!
What are your plans on trimming around the whole pond when the grasses start growing?
Sides look to steep for a lawn mower.

My plan is to plant grass and mow it with a modified mower on a rope. Or weed eat it ......not sure.

Nothing beats fresh fish, from the hook to the skillet in 10 minutes.

Someplace I can't recall we traveled in rural Germany, a restaurant out in the country. If you ordered trout they went out to their little holding pond and netted one. That's fresh!
Absolutely spot on. There is a restaurant here in WV that nets them fresh. Fresh trout is a totally different fish than a trout even 3 hours old.

On frozen pond! We have 3 1/2" of ice on now so it's finally time to build the dock.

A few friends are coming over tomorrow to help me put up the dock and they are going to ice fish too so I wanted to be sure it's safe.

We're gonna build a fire on the shore and cook whatever we pull out. It's safe, me and the dog walked all around it. Ice Will be even thicker tomorrow. Cut out a piece with a chain saw.

First a boat

Still have some trout left?

I wouldn't know what to do if our pond froze over.
Hope y'all catch some trout. Stay out of the wind. More weather coming your way from down here.

My pond froze over a few years ago and I wasn't sure if it was thick enough to stand on or not, so I gave it a try. It wasn't, but fortunately I was only in six inches of water!!!

How are you building your dock? Are you able to drive your posts into the ground? I watched a crew build a dock last year and they had a massive version of a t post pounder. The cut the tips of the logs into a point with a chain saw, then set the log from pontoon boat. Once set, three of them stood all around it and pounded it in just like a t post. Having ice to stand on would make it easier then using a pontoon boat!!!!
