This is a well built trailer from c channel and tubing not your run of the mill home depot angle iron trailer. It has 10 ply tires and its use is limited to driving about a half hour at the most on back roads (50mph). It's incredible how far a little bit of common sense can go

Hope the input so far has helped you make the decision to NOT do a 10' trailer. Weight, distribution, safety, convenience, adaptability, etc. I'd suggest the 14' dual axle if you can afford it. I have a 12' dual axle and a 16' dual axle myself. I'll use my new with brakes that I don't have hooked up 16' to move my tractors and the 12" for rock, dirt, gravel, lumber, loaning to family.:)

12' is what I was thinking however I like the 10' for two reasons, its just smaller and will suit my needs just fine. The other thing is that I am having trouble finding a 12' one that is rated for 5 tonne. Where I live once you go to 6 tonne it has to be licensed as a commercial trailer which means commercial inspection yearly plus 5 times the license fee. These are the main reasons I am looking/preferring a 10'er.

Heck, I put my BX 25 on a 5 x 10 trailer, and I upgraded the axle to 3500 pound axle, with electric brakes. The front end loader stucco over to the front and was held down just behind the Craig, and the backhoe stuck out over the back. Only used it in emergencies, maybe two or three times. Then I got a great deal on a 7000 pound flat deck trailer with the beavertail and lovely ramps. It was an 18 footer, so now I have lots of room for everything. And, with brakes on both axles, it is a lot safer, too.

Even so, if I really had to, I could always take the front end loader off and the backhoe off and put the tractor in the old 5 x 10, for example, if I want to take it in for some service on the main part of the tractor. The tractor itself only weighs about 1500 pounds.

Why do you need a 10,000 lb trailer (muchless a 12,000 lb) to haul a 3,000 lb tractor? Or are you saying that every 12 footer just comes rated at 12,000 lb and you want to avoid that?

OP stated he wanted a dump trailer. Many 12' dumps are rated at 12k lbs, 14' are 14k lbs, etc.

Ive had no issues with a 10' dump trailer and the BX. The truck is only a 1/2 ton so I didn't want to go with a larger trailer.

Greetings 4shorts, have you had occasion to trailer your BX25 with both the front bucket ..and.. grapple? If so, how do you transport both? Perhaps lift one into your truck bed? Thanks, John

Common sense would tell us not to use under rated 4 lug axles to haul this much weight, no matter the distance.
