My New BX25D

Man oh man, I keep hearing about this tooth bar, and it keeps calling to me and calling to me! Unfortunately, I have already used up my "present quota" from the wife, as she got me a ripper tooth for Christmas. On the other hand, my birthday is coming up in April….😜

Picked up my brush hog and landscape rake today. I also installed some goodies from BXpanded that were delivered today.

Nice! I have the same LR rake. It has been good to me so far.

Thanks for all the comments! I am looking forward to using the landscape rake.

Moved my fixer-upper hot tub today. Used the Kubota to help stand it up and set it down. I used my trailer to actually move it. Done some brush clearing with the tooth bar and it worked great. I highly recommend it if you have wooded areas to clean up. I also dug out a few old stumps and hauled them away with my brush forks.

Congrats, I have a "new BX" thread here as well. How do you like the 8" bucket? Does it tend to pack up with dirt? I have the 12" but looking for something smaller for narrow trenching. Thanks and enjoy!

I like this bucket and have only had it pack full with dirt once when I got into some wetter stuff. I was still able to get it out with shaking it a few times and tapping it on the ground, was t an issue at all.

I have lots of trenches to dig and stumps to take out so this is perfect for me. It done a great job on the one trench I dug.

I've enjoyed your thread John and I reviewed it before buying mine!

Thank you Sir for the info on the 8" bucket, I'll have to pick up one. Magic moment building a new home and having a new tractor, congratulations!

I went with the 12in bucket and am very happy with it. I have done a bunch of digging out stumps, terracing, etc. but I do wish I had something narrower for trenching. I ran about 80 feet of trench for a waterline and the 12in was too much especially since half of the distance was across my lawn. Made a big mess for a waterline to my greenhouse. Looking for a trencher/ripper I think. The 8in bucket seems that it would get clogged... at least in my soil. All depends on your eventual uses, but I think a 12in and ripper would be ideal.

Walker450:

you have purchased a tooth bar from BXexpended. What is the primary use for it? You mentioned that it works great removing saplings. Does it take the roots out and all?
Do you think you could make a video for demonstration? I am very curious to see how efficient it is at it. May consider one for myself.
Congrats on your new home, and the lovely orange tractor of yours. With you as the new owner, looks like your land will be well taken care of!

Hey Woody, As I have said on too many posts here, the Piranha tooth bar has been the best thing I did for my BX. You will find a lot of happy owners. Here is a thread I started on specifically on the PTB.

I'll try to make a video of the tooth bar in action. No guarantees though!

Took out a big stump today. I used an axe and sawzall to cut the big roots after exposing them with the backhoe. The tree was on top of rock so the roots directly under the trunk were only about 2' deep.

I bet you jumped off the BX-25D and beat your chest after you pulled that big stump out. :drink: And rightfully so!

Nice work!

Thanks! It is fitting that the 25D remove the stump because this is where I plan to build a building to keep the machine and its implements.
