I've snowblowed with an open station. 8ft blower. Not fun, alot of snow coming back at you.

I too like a plow with a relief valve.....but i like to spend your money too.

I have the 2000 on my DK-40se/hst and it is perfect for that tractor. The plow is AWESOME, and the tractor is too. I plow a TON of snow each winter and the combo of the 2000 series and DK is unbeatable. I use rear chains and loaded rears too. See my signature for more details. Get the series with a crossover valve, that is what will save your loader arms. Not just any truck type plow works on tractors; crossover and lateral float are absolutely essential, as stated above.

Hi Coyote machine,

I'm buying as 78" HLA Series 2000 snowplow this summer. Thanks for your input a few months ago. Forgot to ask back then which cutting edge you bought? The reversible Boron upgrade edge or the commercial grade Carbide non-reversible edge? HLA lists the Carbide for concrete/asphalt only and Boron for concrete/asphalt/gravel.

Thanks for any input you have.

Hi, I just returned from two weeks traveling Europe, or I would have responded earlier. I inquired about the Boron edge at my dealer's and they said they've never sold one. HLA makes heavy duty plows; I think the Boiron edge would be suited to commercial plow work, not average Joe snow blower. JMHO.

As a price reference, I just ordered a 72 inch quick attach 1000 series HLA with Hydraulic angle. $1950 Canadian plus tax.

Now that we've had a few snowfalls I'm happy to say the 1000 is perfectly fine for my driveway. Being as it's well paved and still pretty flat not having the relief valve should hopefully not be a concern.

Off course the first time using it I tore the [expletive] out of the road at the bottom of my driveway....all of the asphalt fill the township has been dropping in there the past 5 years is now actually flat and level lol.

lots of snow down the neck, but it makes me know I'm alive.

I too have a few snowfalls under the belt with the 1000 series. I'm very please with the performance so far. I don't think I'll need to put the bucket on at all this winter. And Yes it will peal up asphalt with ease if your not careful.
