New Kioti CK35 HST Approaching 50 Hours

I haven't reached 50 hours yet so no maintenance done. But I do have a question about the schedule I have for a nice TBN'er (online manuel).

For instance on line 1 it says engine oil get's change first at 50 hours. Then it has a star in the 100 hour block. I assume it means it's every 100 following. Same with the engine oil filter, first time is at 50 hours and then at 200 hours and I assume every 200 hours after that. Typically with a car or bike the oil filter get's changed with the oil, right?

I changed my engine oil at 50, then at 100, then at 200, and will change soon at 300. Yes filter each time.

I changed my engine oil at 50 hours.
After that it got changed once per year. For the first several years I averaged 150 to 200 hours per year.
Oil and filter got changed once per year.
Now that most of my bigger projects are done I am only running around 75 hours/year.
Oil still gets changed once per year.

I twisted the shaft of my nylon strap wrench like a pretzel trying to change the filters on my neighbour's CK27 even though it worked fine when I did my DK35 a few years earlier. I got a Channellock filter plier:

I think it works better than the strap wrench. They are available on Amazon in 9, 12 and 15" sizes. I got the 12" which worked fine on my neighbour's very tight filters. It also fits all the filters on my DK from the small engine filter to the large HST filter.

I changed my oil, etc. at 50 hrs and then at the specified intervals from that. e.g. at 150, 250, 450, etc.

The CK maintenance chart is different than the DK series in that the CK seems to suggest changing engine oil at 100 hr intervals and the filter every 2nd oil change (i.e. 200 hr intervals).

My DK manual's chart only shows "Engine oil" being changed at 100 hr intervals (does not mention the filter on the chart). However, further along in the manual under service item "L" there is a note: "The engine oil filter should be replaced when changing the engine oil."

Although your chart specifies changing oil every 100 hrs and filter every 200 hrs you might find a note in the manual saying something different. The engine oil filter is cheap so I'd be inclined to change it every oil change.

I notice the CK specifies 400 hrs for changing the transmission/hydraulic fluid. The DK is the same but on the advice of my dealer I did not change mine (after the initial 50 hr change) until around 700 hrs after the initial 50 hr change. I do change all filters as specified.

Checking all bolt torques is important. The DK loader says to check it every 25 hrs and I noticed they needed tightening the first few times. My dealer recommended blue Loctite on the large loader frame mounting bolts and they have never moved since. I also noticed slight movement on the wheel bolts until they settled in.

All of mine moved until somewhere around 125 to 150 hours and they haven't moved since. I still check them periodically. I guess they finally wore the paint off!

I have ~ 110 hard hours on mine and they are still moving, albeit maybe less so. I also had a couple lock washers twist open as I was tightening the bolts and had to be replaced. So at least on mine I attribute some of this loosening to poor lock washers. I got tired of it and replace all of the FEL frame mounting locks washers with grade 8s and applied blue thread locker. I hope this helps.

An acquaintance has a LS R4047 and he broke off one in the frame due to it being loose. I assume more than one was loose to cause this to happen.
