One of the best things to happen in Europe, ridding themselves of Walmart!!

Oh I wouldn't say that at all. Walmart even over here had most of what you want right there. Smaller but similar with more eurostuff products at least you didn't have to run all over and buy from those friendly little "shops" that are like most of the dealerships in the US today and pay half more. They just couldn't manage with the German labor laws. As for the quart for 10 bucks **** no kiss needed I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. You would have to be stupid to pay a differential like that here just like over there. :confused2:
I have always seen that same small shop mentality when I was over here on and off since the 70's. Believe me you wouldn't like it one bit. It would be like having to buy everything at NAPA or the Stealership but every damned thing. No thanks I'll take the discount stores hands down every time and get the same thing for a third less.

Napa has their brand for $2.99 a qt,(in NE CT, where everything is a bargain..) it used to be relabeled valvoline, not sure if it still is.....Wallace World has pretty good prices on most oile, the Motorcraft 5-20 blend is still a great deal in a 5 qt jug there

Costco around here has a 6qt package for around $35. Thought that was fair enough based on what I have been paying at AutoZone. Plus 6qt is exactly what I need.

Around here you can get the 5 qt oil changes and filter for around $25. I buy the max number allowed a few times over.

I am the son of a dutch immigrant, supporting the corner store is the way I was taught! I don't care if Walmart is paying people to take their crap, I won't set foot in one.

Yeah! Who wants the lower income folks being able to buy products they need at prices they can afford! It is stupid to allow people the means to make their dollar go further.

FWIW here is a nice interactive site for the tech specs on most common motor oils. Very interesting stuff, even shows that Wallworld Supertec isn't as most claim it is. They also list the no name stuff to stay away from.
Interesting....there are actually motor oils out there for sale which WILL ACTUALLY DESTROY YOUR ENGINE.:hissyfit:

True, but if one pays even passing attention to the bottle, it kinda says that...Why anyone would bother selling something like that in the first place is beyond me...Top-Off oil only? Really?:confused3:

The site makes it clear that some oil brands do NOT meet the specs which are claimed on the label. Major, well known brands tested OK, far as I could see. However, there are quite a few brands which I never heard of which fail to actually meet the specs on the label.
