I don't think there is a single part that interchanges between the 4x20's and the 110....well there could be a few, but they are totally different tractors from the ground up.
It isn't a 4120 engine in them. The 110 was a Yanmar and the 4x20's all had John Deere engines in them, but I agree on the power, it would make them a more appealing machine for PTO chores if they had a 4520 engine in them.

Aren't the 4x20's Yanmar as well?

I've always looked at it in a simplistic way:

The 110 is a backhoe that COULD be used as a tractor.

A Kioti, Kubota, Deere, Massey, etc. tractor with a backhoe is a tractor that COULD be used as a backhoe.

IIRC, when I bought my 110 there was a difference in price between a HD FEL bucket (although I've never seen a standard loader bucket on a 110) and a standard bucket. Same with the hoe buckets - there was a price increase for the HD buckets.

I have seen different weights listed for the HD backhoe buckets vs the standard pin-on buckets. Never seen a weight for a standard FEL bucket vs the HD (or with the reversible cutting edge, either).

Nonetheless, I believe that JD was "creative" with the weight estimates for the 110. Not dishonest... Per se. But, an important marketing "hook" was towing ease and getting homeowners and hobbiests to jump on the 110 bandwagon 'cause "I can tow it with my pickup"!

Well, to arrive at that marketing point, they recorded the weights without the optional features. Likely, 1/2 full fuel tank or less, too.

I'm gonna weigh my 110 on the land-fill scale - without trailer - this Spring when things warm up. I'm fairly convinced that my 110, as it's currently set up; weighs very nearly spot on @ 8,000lbs. Maybe 50lbs more; maybe 50lbs less.

We'll see...

FYI, I checked out the Yanmar site today, it looks like they are still making the CBL40

I don't have the specs memorized... But I seem to recall that the Yanmar pencils out closer to the L35 Kubota than the other TLB's.

Nice explanation of the 3 point arms install with old charming loquacious Billsmax. I wish he had given the part numbers from JD . MY local JD parts man will only order if he has the numbers.......hmmm

Only HP wise (i believe it's 38 HP) ... But spec wise, and fundamentally, it's a 110. I want to say that the loader had more breakout and curl as well. The seat swivels too.
