Bird this is my off duty carry now. Small comfortable 1911. Nicer to shoot than the full size Glock 45 that is issued.

"<CALayer: 0x17716e50>",
"<CALayer: 0x18cc5610>",
"<CALayer: 0x18cb9c80>"
)

I know they're popular, and to the best of my knowledge, good guns, but I've never even fired a Glock of any caliber.

I prefer the small size of the 5 shot .38 S&W revolvers, and I guess my hands are big enough that I like square butt and have a grip adapter added to the model 36 that I still carry when I carry. I bought it new in 1964 and the gun, a holster, box of ammo, and sales tax came to $54.80. The last time I saw one in a pawn shop, they wanted $350 for it.

Always got a J frame somewhere close.

Did not go to gun show but gun shops today. Looking for lever action in 38/357 or 44 will do nicely. Saw anice 45/70 too much kick I think

Never been to a gun show. If I think I need another gun there are many dealers in town.

For some collectors, you simply can't run down to dicks sporting goods and find the toys we like.

Roger that. I always have a want list. I've been looking for years for just the right Savage 99 in 300 Savage. I want a late 40's to early 50's with brass cartridge counter and a Lyman receiver sight, used but not abused shooter.

I always go through any S&W revolver in a used case, I have found some gems that I knew were rare that to most looked like any other old wheel gun.

I also will closely look at any older Marlin or Winchester lever gun for bargains that are sound mechanically. A 30-30 behind the truck seat is always comforting for me to have around.

But the last 5-6 years it has been disappointing. Maybe only 1 in 20 stands have guns. And most of the time, they are asking more for a used gun than you can get a new one for. And for everything else, better than half the stands are "made in china" stands now. Like going to a HF store, only higher priced.

Haven't needed to buy a gun in a while. China is making our guns now? Holy carp.

I inherited a couple of my grandfather's 99's in 250-3000 Savage from that era. They are the most personally sentimental guns I own. Always wanted one in 300 Savage. Still kick myself for not buying a really nice used one for $150 at a gun show back in the 80's.

Took my wife and father to a small show last year. We just looked. Coolest thing there was a huge gun safe that weighted 1,800 pounds. The inside was lit up like a movie star's dressing room. If I bought it I'd just cut a hole in the wall then set it up against the house to add another room.

I am sure china makes some guns. But the made in china comment was about all the other stuff there. The place I used to go isnt really a gun show. Just a big swap meed. But used to be 50% of the stands were guns. And now 50% of the stands are HF china crap and only 1 in 20 or so is guns. And all overpriced.

Not sure what current prices are, last I went was ~5 years ago, and a NEF or H&R single shot shotguns.....the kind you can buy new for $120, were setting on tables in beat up used condition for $125-$150.

Pretty much every glock, S&W, and taurus semi auto pistols were selling used for $25 OVER new MSRP

Plain Jane ruger 10/22's were selling for $250-$300 used. And Marlin 60's were $200 used.

Just outrageous prices. And if you tried to offer any less, these dealers actually got upset and thought YOU were crazy
