Moved a bunch of snow today and the snow tended to stick inside the bucket in fairly large clumps when I dumped it so I wasn't getting a full buckets worth on the next pickup. I've tried silicone spray and it works well for a while, but seems to not last long and isn't exactly a cheap way for the size of the bucket. I'm thinking of waxing the inside of the bucket if we get a reasonably warm day to see how that works and holds up.

What are you using if anything?

Spray it with some diesel fuel

Wax may work well. Something like wd-40 or fluid film would probably work as well, but probably wouldn't last any longer than your silicon spray.

nothing will work for very long. It's a waste of time and money. Been there, done that.

I use spray wax, that's right I wax the inside of my bucket ! truth be told, it does work well, but doesn't last long. Maybe 2 storms. It's more fuel for friends to bust my chops.

Fluid film. Fleet Farm and O'Reilly just started carrying it. I bought some because of how everyone on here raves about it. They're right. It's awesome. And it's non-toxic. I'll be ordering a case this week.

I'm with ya Pilgrim. I run a Road Grader. I've tried everything, including pouring water on the Plow to create a layer of ice that the snow would slide off of. Yeah right....

Looks like your layer of ice is too thick :)

I think Richard you could have gotten the same results with molasses.

What can work, depending on the surface and means of application, is a plastic facing or lining.

HDPE* is one form of plastic that is fairly resistant and can be heat moulded.
Some plows use it as a moldboard, I once lined the blower chute and it worked just fine.

*High density polyetheline.
