You could always put power service 911 in your filter and screw n it on and same with the tank and it would do the same as kerosene and maybe faster.
I've tried both white and red and they have never worked for me by themselves. The kerosene is $1.50 a gallon more then diesel so for the price of a bottle of 911 I can have four gallons of kerosene and treat twenty gallons of diesel.

Hey VTSNOWEDIN living in NC I don't have the fuel gelling problem. What exactly do you do with the kerosene?
Thanks

Just add it to the fuel tank looking for a 30-70 mix with the diesel. The kerosene is thinner and won't jell up. People that live in old trailers here use kerosene in the furnaces as the tank sits outside and #2 diesel will jell up on cold nights when you need it most. It is -10 F here as I write this heading for 20 below by dawn.

I live in warmer country now but i am from Nebraska. We have cut the diesel with a little gas if we didn't have any kerosene. I think kerosene is the way to go but gas will work in a emergency.

I've heard of that but wouldn't know the right amount to mix in and I bet no manufacturer will stick their neck out and clue us in. As you say would be an emergency situation only.
I do remember a guy putting something like three gallons of gas in with twenty gallons of diesel into a Mercedes back in the early seventy's but that memory is old and fuzzy.

I remember one time a rancher had us build a small fire under the tractor to get it warm enough to get it running. And yes i know that sounds crazy!

Yup crazy!! But My father would take the ash pan from the kitchen stove and fill it with red hot coals and slide it under the oil pan of the family car. Taking care to not pump the gas or try to start it first to keep any gas off the engine block. In a couple of minutes you could hear the moisture in the bottom of the oil pan begin to crackel and pop. Slide the ash pan out of the way with a garden hoe and give her a whirl. Another thing was to take a quart can of oil (it used to come in metal cans) open it and heat it to boiling hot before dumping it into the engine.

That's funny! I've heard of those "old" technological approaches except the boiling a quart of oil... Whoa.. I think I'd stay outta the kitchen for that!

Yup had to be careful to not have it expand and run over the top and onto the wood stove lids. Have good gloves on or a stove mitt ready and carry it out to the car real careful.

Don't try to heat a full can of oil. Remove some first to avoid spills.
