People Used to sell stuff at the flea markets that they didn't want anymore. Now they are doing it for a living...so the heck with those shows.

Fellas, if a person has an FFL (Federal Firearms Licence) it does not matter where he sells a gun, or if the gun is new or used, he MUST perform a NICS check (background check).. So this shooting a gun to make it used is not correct. ALL guns sold by a dealer must have a background check to be sold and it does not matter if he is selling them in a brick and mortar store or in a back alley or a gun show.

Any dealer selling a gun at a gun show without a NICS check is risking losing his licence and going to federal prison.

You don't have to have a FFL to sell at a gun show.

Correct. He is saying IF you are a dealer with a FFL then you MUST do the background check. If you are not a dealer, you do not have to do the background check.

Its as simple as that.

Correct. I'm saying most people at our shows are NOT dealers. Not fighting with ya.

There are some gun shows that won't even allow you to sell or trade in the parking lot to individuals. They rent out the parking lot as well as the building and this is how they accomplish that. They even have security walking the parking lots looking for such activity and will tell you to leave if caught.

I've been kicking around the idea of going to a gun show. There is one coming up either this weekend or next weekend close to me (I got the flyer in the mail). I just hate paying $5 to get in and only be disappointed. I went to one last year and got some oddball 8mm ammo and some .303 on clips for my Enfield pretty reasonable, but that was all. Most of the guns, as many others have mentioned, seem overpriced.

I really prefer gunbroker.com because I can find almost anything I want as market price - although I may just not have enough money to buy it. I have a local dealer that does transfers for $20, plus since I picked up my C&R license, I can get a lot of the guns I'm after delivered directly to me.

It will probably depend on the weather if I go to the gun show or not. I do enjoy seeing what's there, but I don't expect to find any sweet deals on firearms...

Good luck and take care.

Good to hear you found your lever action Buppies.

Have the stiches healed, or are you planning on trick shooting from the hip for now ?

Five dollars for an hour or three of entertainment is not bad. Don't go expecting anything. Be surprised you find something you can use.

What does a movie cost, and what do you find there you can use? :)
