HEY!! Your friends near DC appreciate your kind thoughts, but are willing to let you guys have our share! I live 20 miles South, and we just got our first real snow, about 9". We are expecting 5 more tomorrow, winter just took awhile to arrive.

If it makes you feel better, it was 0 degrees this morning, wood stove is just humming away!

The real issue is.....what idiot at Kubota designed TWO little teeny fuel filters, with paper elements (just to make sure a half drop of water will freeze it solid) on the BX-25? My fuel had Diesel 911 in it, and still it froze. No, the same diesel that goes in my truck, trencher, and neighbors Bobcat with no issues!

When it sputtered and died on Tuesday, it's a real wonder the language alone didn't thaw the fuel lines and melt the snow within a 20 foot radius! Still took a hair dryer about a half hour.

The only thing I really don't like about my 25, I may have to do the Racor thing this summer, but let's face it, I really shouldn't have to!

George
Yeah, I had the same problem with my B7500. I guess it was moisture from condensation in the fuel tank even with 911 in it. It would be nice if the filter was a bit bigger and would allow a bit more to collect before it freezes up.

I took a walk today. The temperature was 0 degrees Fahrenheit with a snow storm predicted for this Sunday and another possible one for next Wednesday. I took of photo of this guy. I'm wondering if he knows something we don't.

By now he's probably figured out the early bird gets the wind burn.
Nose hairs froze this morning.

He's a spy, sent by Algore to compile evidence of global warming! They'll locate his frozen body in May.

I do feel sorry for New England, no doubt. Our 'normal' annual snowfall here is 15-16". We got 46" in 95-96 and it was not pleasant for us, and I was still the guy in the bucket truck restoring everyone's power back then. I'd still hug and kiss the guy who invents a non-conductive heater for a bucket!! Gaffs there is no hope there, trust me, there is no heat!

Our temps are normally mid 20's, so these 0 and low teens are really telling on us. My old house was built in 1930, you know BEFORE they used insulation.

Everybody hang in there, at least for another month. Experience tells me it will get warmer......eventually.

They supposeably had some reading -40 and below east of Grayling. Lowest from one of the NWS monitored sites was -39. That's getting down into the ' better check your antifreeze rating with the bulb thingy ' range.... :) I only had -21 up here in the hills above Gaylord, but Gaylord got down to -29... so they say. again... :)
