Sorry for your loss ! We lost our Chocolate Lab Jazz nearly 2 years ago in April just before my Birthday - it did not make for a happy Birthday. We had our little girl cremated and we keep her close. We also have many pictures of Jazz and our new (nearly 2 now) Chocolate Lab on our screen savers. We will all see our pets again - It can't be heaven without our best friends !

Some what lost in all the recent events.
Someone may be eating my quail , doves or both. Last Sunday there were shotgun blasts pretty close to my house. I heard 6 shots. It may be quail and / or dove season. Not getting the big flocks coming in, some may have just scattered>
There is a mother dove nesting about 6 feet from where I sit on the back deck. She is hard to see when not moving. Most activity does not bother her.

I like like to see the doves and quail. Right now I have so many migratory ducks in my fields I can't believe it. Darkens the sky.

Hi Red Neck, & All,
Been doing my posting on the happy camper thread. This one needs a little up dating.
Mother Dove had 2 baby's & in 3 days the they were gone. Ravens ( Called Crows in this part of the world.) Coming in low & looking for nesting birds with eggs. At least 1 lost her eggs.
Have Little Boy back from jail. Repaired & improved the fence. Short test, & it is working. He stayed in for about an hour.
Quite the neighborhood that I live in.
Think Criminal #2 may be in jail. His mother says he has a job in town. If he did he would see her on weekends. Not happening.
About 3/4 of a mile away, north of me I head a male yelling for help. I could hear 2 males arguing & moving west. Pretty soon I hear 1 of them yell, "you M.F.er. Border Patrol was pretty quick to respond & called me to get clear directions, at least 2 of them were on their way. About 15 minutes later a county cop comes by my place going due south. Dogs raising he!!, backs up turns around in my drive & roars off with me yelling at him. Windows up AC on I guess, could not hear or see me or the dogs, just looking straight ahead. Get him on the phone, ask if he knows where he is going. Nope, Why didn't you stop when I yelled at you??? "Didn't hear you". Boy is he bright, going south when it was made clear action was in the north. Looking for people yelling & could not hear me 10' away.
Am pretty sure the 2 yelling are 2 brothers, both jail birds. Every time one of them gets out they have a party, get drunk and / or doped up. That turns into an argument & escalates from there. 7 / 8 Years ago after the "Party" one goes to sleep in a travel trailer, other brother sets it on fire. About a month ago 1 came home from jail, another party, 1 brother stabs the other one. No charges pressed, "It's a Family Matter'. So much for Brotherly Love.
Now even my dog is a criminal, had to bail him out of jail a few days ago. Also an illegal as the border patrol picked him up & took him to jail. :laughing:

The boredom continues.
Most exciting thing was luring Little Boy into the truck. Throw hunks of hotdogs into the cab & let him chase them. In & out a couple of times, when Mother Bobby joined him I shut the door. Took them both for a short ride, they met my friends sister & then over to his place. Both of them got some petting. He behaved pretty well most of the ride, even stayed in pretty well. Until we came through the gate at home. Window down about 7 inches, as I went to close the gate he jumped out. OH well It's a start.
I have said that Mother Bobby would rather go for a ride than eat steak. She sort of proved that today. Cut a package of old bacon in 1/2, part fore each mutt. She had just started chewing on her 1/2, when she spotted a cotton tail & off she went.There are 1 or 2 of the rabbits that appear to come just to tease her.
Even though Little Boy was still chewing on his 1/2 he wanted hers as well. Held it down with my foot until she got back. She let him know in no uncertain terms that was hers.
