An update on the boredom.

Rain storm lasted for over 72 hours. I was surprised, checked dust gauge & it had 3.5+ inches of water & mud in it. It took so long in coming down there was very little run off. Made lots of puddles & soup on the road.

Sure did set back my road work. It has to dry out some before any more can be done.

Saw about 10 minuets of the super bowl, then took a nap.

How many of you have seen or heard your dogs Dreaming??
Kirby my big girl use to chase rabbits quite often in her sleep. He feet would scratch against the closet door.
Mother Bobby, her paws will twitch & she sort of whimpers.
Little Brat was asleep on the deck last night & was dreaming something, just making noise of some sort. She also snores.
Don't know about Little Boy. He probably dreams about some new ways to get into mischief.

2 Things that irritate me are people that constantly yell at their dog. I can whisper to my mutts & they hear.
Other is the term Stupid Animals. If people could understand animals as well as they understand us, that term would be long gone.

More Later,
Jim

Yep, Jim, dogs sure can be funny! Had a cattle dog that would go into a dead run in her sleep, paws flying back and forth as she rested on her side. Once in a while she'd let out the most forlorn Hounds of the Baskervilles howl you've ever heard, usually in the wee hours of the morning. Made sleeping kind of hard around her.

No such thing as stupid animals, only stupid people. Yell at 'em enough and they'll ignore you, doesn't matter if it's dogs or kids. Just go to the supermarket to see what I mean. Bad enough when it's dogs, but kids grow up to be stupid adults because that's what they were taught. Then if they vote we end up like we are now. But don't get me goin' on politics!

We had some good rain back in December here, and nothing since. Supposed to get a few more days of storms later this week but we're so far below what's needed to break the drought it'd have to last for weeks to make a difference. Still haven't turned off the sprinkler system for the winter!

In a month or two you'll be missin' all that rain and complainin' about the heat and dust ;) For now be glad you've got an excuse to not to be out on the tractor and can stay home eatin' tamales with your four legged pals!

Loaded trailer with dirt & rock for the road. Didn't really get a full load as the tires started looking almost flat. As the pictures show, unloading is a lot of "Fun". Maybe more fun than I really wanted.
More boredom later
Jim

That is the most genius idea I have seen but at the same time that's cheating. (mumbles as he finds some plate to weld to the bucket)

 you got that right,

My boy is laying on my feet, with my legs pinned to the couch & he goes and arfs some & kicks a lot. He is a howler outback when the sirens go but is one pretty voice on him!!!

A Very bad night at this place.
It was an accident, but Little Boy killed Little Brat.
She had a short but Happy life. Truly a 1 man dog, she would have nothing to do with other humans & I was that lucky man.

At midnight I got up 7 could hear what sounded like a puppy whimpering & a few short muffled barks from Little Boy.
What first appeared that Little Boy had her by the throat & would not let go & she was whimpering. Hit him with the flashlight, then a frying pan, still nothing.
Took a while to figure out, but she was dead & cold.

My best guess is they were playing & he got his lower jaw caught under her collar. Her collar was an old fan belt that she had worn for about 3 years.
His jaw made it so tight that it choked her to death. Should I ever put another collar on a dog it will be wimpy enough to break.

Little Boy loved her & she was boss, I Loved her as did her mother Bobby.

Will go to job & get the tractor & bury her in a little while.

Jim,
I am so sorry to hear this. The only time Booger wore a collar was when he was sick and needing regular medication. The last time, he got bit on the neck and I put a shoulder harness on him. He seem to like it better than a collar. Again, so sorry for you loss. Will you be making a cross for the grave?
hugs, Brandi
