Anyone with Road Maintenance/HOA power tripping neighbors?

Does anyone else have to deal with an HOA for their common roads?
My wife got conned into being on the board and unfortunately got picked to be president. A former member of the board is now terrorizing our lives because she can't let go of "the power".
Anyone have tips to deal with this "lovely individual"?

Yes, I certainly have your answer. At the next HOA gathering - your wife just politely gives up her position as president. Problem solved.

I'm not a fan of HOA's, mainly because I haven't heard many people say good things about them. I get they are a necessity when dues must be paid to maintain private roads but that is where they should probably stop. I have read numerous articles where HOA's forced vets to take down American flags in their yard because they violated the bi-laws. Absolutely ridiculous IMO.

I would NEVER EVER buy a property with a HOA on it.

Call her for her advice or opinion 3-5 times a day, every day, at the times of your choice. Don't answer when she calls you.

Don't get it wrong, I have and always will do what I want regardless.
Our HOA is a road maintenance agreement only. Outside of a few minor rules that prevent potential problems with the egress it is wide open.

bcp--that is what is happening to us right now. She leaves the same "this is x, call me back asap" message all the time but never picks up on the return call. I am also starting to belive that she was doing some shady stuff behind the scenes during her tenure.
