11 now, going to 4 or 5. Spent the day taking the ceiling out of a 1880 basement. Tongue and groove, random widths, some over 12 in wide. I'd save some, but the old guys sure didn't scrimp on nails!!!! Interesting building, real 2 x 12's for floor joist's, notched into each other. A lot of the lumber seems to be oak, probably locally milled.

Have a lot of milled oak 2"X8"'s as floor and ceiling joists in my 1890 barn...can you imagine what such lumber would cost today???

Good evening all. Hit 44F today got a ride in. Mom enjoyed lunch, and the friend is changing her mind on what she wants to do warming up her bay window. 1 in snow forecast for tonight, then temps will be 25 deg lower than normal

Currently 33. High was 38. Taxes are done. I always dread them but they weren't as bad as I was afraid of. Chance of snow tomorrow evening and then back into the freezer for Friday. Looking forward to the weekend warm up.

Sometimes we complain about the accuracy of weather forecasters, however when they show on TV a bank of thick cloud rolling in over the Atlantic and arriving here at 8:00am, I am inclined to believe them and got up extra early to do as much as possible in the dry.

The dog wasn't impressed with my early start, nor did he appreciate the soaking we both got when the rain came in no more than 5 minutes early.
Quite amazing how good they often are now with their short term computer predictions, even if it does take a few more bytes and terra-flops than those old PDPs.
