and marvelous lamb jokes!!
damp grey day here but at least it did not pour, on and off drizzle. Good thing not to rainy as the electricians finally showed up to install my generator. Nice to see they go the extra yard and put down a subbase of pea gravel with a wood surround. Now if the propane people would return my call.
Had a lot of implement switching to do, off with the bucket, on with the forks, off with the phd (pita) on with the weight box. And glad I did. When the lumber company made their delivery this afternoon with two big pallets of lumber for the barn woodshop project, even with filled tires I needed that extra weight on the back.
So I ease on up to the pallet on the truck holding about three feet of lumber. Pull back on the stick and
squatola. nada. More fuel. Nope. oh no, I told them to bring the truck without their nice unloader, now my wimpy tractor can't pick the stupid wood up. I never have been impressed with the hydraulic lift capability of my Kubota but this was just too much. Embarrassing even. Until, of course..., the driver waved at me to pull back a little. I did and the tip of the forks which had snuck under the second pallet came free and my Kubota was once again my hero. What a mess I made of the lawn though.
Tomorrow it's going up to the mid 70's here. Going to be a good outside day I hope and I have no idea what to do with those fruit tree holes, though that pump in a bucket is sounding like a good idea.
Lastly, got my truck oil changed. 125 bucks for gallons of oil in the Cummins I guess. Glad I only have to do that once a year. It was still the new truck oil, they said no to changing it early, which I didn't like, but since I'm driving to PA this weekend and it's at 7000 miles I wanted to get it done. Then got some fuel, added some DEF, and I am all set.
