Only gonna last a couple hours tho' ...

They're still predicting an overnight low of -1F for Thursday ... after that the temps start to turn a little more seasonable.

Good morning! Foggy 43˚. I have not seen the sun for a week.

With the success of the drain project, leak project, cow project I'm ready to go back and tackle Mom's kitchen light project. I decided to remove the problematic florescent light fixtures and install LED lights. Costco had their 4' LED lights on sale and I bought 4 for them. All I need to do is add plug receptacles and changeout the fixtures. I also made a project yesterday when their tumble buggy (round bale collapsable trailer) wiring connection broke when I disconnected it after feeding. It's getting to be a regular part time job keeping them going.

Is it possible to grow old on the farm without a lot of help? My observations say no. Mobility and eyesight diminish over time. When do you implement plan B? What do you do if plan B (your children) are not available. I see Drew and a few other have their go-to-helpers lined up.

I am not nearly as old as a lot of TBNers and am thinking about plan B now. I seriously doubt any family will be a go-to-helper here. Usually when I fired up equipment, they all went someplace else when they were young.

I had hopes on just mowing grass when the time comes, but that too can be a "chore".

Good your helping out, it takes a lot of time and effort to help. Good for you.

Good morning. As txdon declined to supply animal pics yesterday (and for that we were all grateful), I'll put up a couple more lamb pictures instead. These are the youngest, still sheltering inside. Others out in the field are finding shelter from the biting wind wherever they can. I tried to move some ewes and their lambs over to another field this morning where the water isn't frozen. The ewes are easy enough to bribe with a bucket of corn pellets, however the lambs don't really want to move away and a dozen or more kept doubling back to where they spent the night. Dog is not much help. He's happy to let the lambs be, just giving them a sniff and occasional wag of his tail. So I've admitted defeat for the moment. Have to try again later and ask the Mrs to help

Cute
Tempted to ask if your wife's name is Mary, but that just might indicate I'm not fully awake yet. :)

Good morning all. 31F for a start, minimal precip overnight, 52F and periods of rain today. Cold shot comes back in tonight, and stays till Friday morning. Working on cleaning the fireplace and hearth today. Sinus drainage has improved, and the near normal temps starting Friday should help as well.

Good Afternoon. 1230, sunny, 84F with 59% humidity. Forecast low of 57F tonight. I've been out planting the last few longleaf seedlings, and it is sweaty weather here. Going back out to trim some trees so I can get closer with the tractor for mowing. Should have already been done, but Spring has sneaked up on me.

Hope everyone is having a good day,

Larro

All went well, sheep moved into middle fields ready for the next lot.
Had to carry some of the lambs through the gateway as the mud was too deep for them. I must get it filled in with more rubble (think I say that every year).

Ah, you were taught that nursery rhyme too.
I can't remember all the variants we told as kids and some were probably too vulger to go on here.

Mary had a little lamb,
It had a touch of colic,
She gave it brandy twice a day,
And now its alcoholic.

Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow.
Along came foot-and-mouth disease,
Now it's burried six feet below

Feel free to add - I'm not married to a Mary !
