No, the trout will probably not survive the summer so we will be catching them all out and doing the initial stocking of warm water fish (bass, bluegill). The trout were 3/4 - 1lb at stocking but grow rapidly (1" a month) when they are pellet fed.Great thread! I'm hoping to build a pond at my place soon.
Will those trout survive in your pond year round or do you plan to stock them every year? How big are they when you stock them? I know they wouldn't survive year round in my pond now but think it would be cool to put some in to catch over winter.
Here is some crazy looking fractures to the ice supposedly caused by freezing and thawing. The ice now is getting dangerously thin and ice fishing season is officially over I believe.
