62F headed for a high of 88f with more sunny skies and light breezes. Average for this time of year is high 70s and high 30s, so we're well above that with no sign of returning to normal.

Made it to 91 on that age calculator, Drew. They say only the good die young ;) 8)

Which game cam did you end up with?

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

42 degrees, going to 70 today in what is forecast as a straight week of dry weather.

came out yesterday morning and found my bird feeder stand, 1/2 rod steel, bent over like a pretzel. No tracks in the lawn and mulch. Bird feeders empty but not chewed. My instinct is to say some large smart deer did this, but hard to believe it bent that stand in half. So...bear?

game cam ordered this morning.

this is my first Spring here and it is a real joy to see the various bushes and trees blooming.

California Condor? An Army of Squirrels working together? One very fat Coon? Only the Shadow knows.... 52 Sunny and going to 82. Good Morning All

42 right now...how of 71. Sunny too, so it looks to be a beautiful Spring day ahead of us!
Chores...dump run and pick up an oil filter (and 2 qts of oil) for the Z920A, got heating oil yesterday and I'll probably have to bleed the lines from the tank...got to do a presentation for work...that's enough today, I think

49 this morning and headed to 77 today. Nice sunny day today. Son's 2nd birthday party today so nothing else planned.

One thing I found funny on the bucket test was it said. One of the biggest indicators of how long you'll live is how long you have already lived. So you retired guys should live longer than us young ones. Makes me wonder about their formula. Fun anyways.

Drew. Bear would be a guess. Have you seen anymore sign of one? Have you seen any bears while you've been there?

Good Morning. 0755, sunny, 60F with 99% humidity. Forecast high of 81F with 0% chance of rain today, and a low of 55F tonight. It was brisk {46F} out earlier, but should be a very nice day. I'm in the office early again. The first event is a church type thing. The couple in charge are real good folks, and would be my neighbors if the Chipola River wasn't between us. As it is, I only see them about every 3 to 4 months when they have events at the Civic Center.

Farmer, don't eat too much cake and ice cream:D

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Lots of sports today. No matter what you like, there should be something for you to watch.

Just something to consider... Every Sept. my local shop has safes on sale (new models coming out?) and I now have 3 Winchester Pony's. $700 each, and I have one for handguns, one for rifles, and one for ammo.

If I was going to go down that road again, I'd strongly consider a modular safe. Much easier to move. After seeing a few heavy wall safes unzipped by an abrasive cutoff wheel, I now know it's not enough just to lock'em up...

I have a Liberty safe. All Liberty safes have a lifetime manufacturers warranty - they will repair or replace any safe that is in a fire or break-in. 20 something different models up to 2.5 hour burn time to choose from. I found a mid line floor model at my local locksmith and bought it very reasonable as they were wanting to bring in a new model.

I believe someone said my little visitor might be back. Oh yeah.
bent the birdfeeder hanger back over again, just like before, but after finding I hadn't filled it since it was destroyed the last time, only one birdfeeder was on the ground.

Don't bears leave paw prints? Or soft paws...

going to mount this on my porch aimed right at that birdfeeder. SMILE! whoever you are, and please stop wrecking my stuff.

local opinion is a bear
nothing to fool with
but I might hang something from a really tall tree on the side of the property and see what entertainment I can produce...

Good morning guys, There is no way I can keep so this is where I picked it up.

Kyle, Congrats on the good news, I'm very happy for you and your family.

Just want to let everyone know that our little Finnly has had a GREAT week at school. We thought we were going to have to pull her out, but all the ladies (principal, her optional teacher, counselor, & special ed administrator) and us, had a good meeting about it. After a good cry by all, they really bent over backwards to accommodate changes to her curriculum. She will be pulled out of the mainstream class for studies. She will join the mainstream for class activities and outside class stuff like art, music and computer classes. They put her back on her previous bus where the ladies who drive it just love Finnly to bits. We told her about these changes last Friday after the meeting and she was happy. They are going to give her special counseling each week, along with her previous speech and occupational therapies.

Come Monday, she was eager to get on the bus, had a great day at school, earned the highest conduct color possible, and the same for Tuesday. Came home in a great mood instead of crying and afraid of home punishment for getting bad conduct grade. I know the Lord has his hand right smackdab in the middle of her education and well being.

Thank you all for the prayers. We have our happy child back.

63 degrees and sunny, going to be working on rebuilding some raised garden beds today. Taking out old straw bails and replacing them with concrete blocks.

I have been trying to add a photo, but the app keeps crashing.

AIADW, looks like you got some exercise there, the hay bales were a pretty neat idea, assuming you had an excess of it.

well, found out where the bears come from, not to mention the little cypress pond behind my house was called Bear Pond many years ago. Funny how the realtor missed that...;)
It appears that the edge of the largest woodlands in NC is only about 10 miles away, an extension of the Great Dismal Swamp. So bears leave the woods to see what's happening in civilization, like where to find some nice appetizers.

what worries me is whether a bear would climb my metal fencing to get in the orchard. I'm thinking harvest time when all that fruit is out there...

was nice to mow the orchard today for the first time after the fence people left. Just gives me a good feeling looking at all those healthy trees, and well, yeah, a few that just aren't going to make it. I bought a peach tree today on sale to replace one leafless tree, but I'm going to wait a few weeks and see if they will releaf. Maybe an botanical impossibility...
