Good morning!!!!

Bushings will be something I'll be looking for on the next tractor. I've been lucky on this project to be able to disassemble everything far enough to get it under the mill for boring, but I don't know how you'd do that for a FEL bucket with the pivots welded on. Probably have to fabricate new brackets (bushed, of course), and replace the old ones.

Haven't measured the pins yet, but there are obvious wear marks on them as well. The DOM tubing I'm using for the bushings is 1020 carbon steel, and I suspect that the pin material is A36 as it was being used as a tensioning rod in an earthquake retrofit project. No idea how they'll wear together, but you can bet I'll be using a lot of grease!

Maybe with the correct portable line boring machine?

I have an acquaintance who does line boring in the field but I've not priced what he would ask to do the job. He would bore the holes out, weld in new sleeves that incorporated replaceable bushings.

The newer NH loaders (mine is a 2003) have light ~1" long pin bushings with a shoulder that insert from each end of the sleeve. They are not expensive and treated as a consumable maintenance item.

My bucket is also fatigued and cracking, I've welded the corners together a couple times. Plus it's not a SSA quick attach loader. My loader really doesn't owe me anything it has been used a lot and hard. I'll just keep using it until something forces me to replace it I think.

RNG, nice job on your loader so far.

Got chased off the lawn mower by a pretty hard shower. We needed some rain. It's been several windy warm days since the last one.

one side of my backhoe the holes do not line up very well.

why do people get so excited about a Sink of de Mayo?

A few minutes on the tractor digging out the trenches one more time. A few hours on my Georgia Backhoe scooping out the dirt, then laying lines and putting in spigots. {and one fast trip to Lowe's for 3/4" couplings, which I could have sworn I had already bought} I'm keeping my spigots just below ground level. See my high dollar solution for covers. And I'm putting in plenty of shutoff valves. Less I will have to worry about dripping next winter. Didn't get through, but got a lot done.

They say only the good die young ;) 8)
I need to stop being good and get into some trouble. I took a death test and it said I'd be dead at 76. The Death Test | OkCupid

I was a pretty bad kid and gave my parents lots of he double hockey sticks. So much that I'm surprised they didn't shoot me dead then. NO they would never do that. But I did get spanked a lot.

I grew up and started being good. I need to reverse that and be bad at least a little bit so maybe I'll live longer. lol

I took one a few years ago and it said I'd be dead at age 25. Well I'm 27 now so I made it past those years. :) I don't have much faith in them tests. xd

Good evening all. Back in MO after putting an offer on a house. Inspection Saturday hope it's good. Weather was low 60's in TX, hit 84 on the trip back with some spot showers, rain forecast for THursday PM Friday Sat. Sunday and Monday morning. Gotta get lawn mowed and high top van ready to sell.

Good luck. Don't want you to be homeless. :D If you can find an existing house that fits your desires that would be my choice over building new. Less expense and less hassle all around.

Are bears counted in that Death Test? I'm sure Drew is up tree by now.

reports of my consumption are greatly exaggerated....

however...the game cam did come in and I just spent some time setting it up, and will install it later this morning.
Set it on lowest 2mp setting, remember when that was high rez?...

lost my pocket camera again, bummed, set it down somewhere, likely it will turn up, but was looking for it to post a pic of a bunny nest in my orchard. White fuzzy stuff all over, and when I dug under, a high pitched squeal and and three inch long baby bunny crawled out, not liking the sun one little bit. And underneath it looked like two more wedged into a hole in the ground.

I simply cannot kill the things, but then all they will do is head straight for my vegetable garden. Not like they can hurt anything in the orchard and there are plenty of holes big enough for them to get out of there, particularly at the gates.
I tried giving the bunnies away to the electrician yesterday, he laughed and said his daughters would love them but he'd have to take care of them and no thanks.

depressing visit to the arthritis doc, CT said severe degenerative disc disease. Well at least it agrees with the last MRI...
And despite having worked my way down to my lowest weight in 30 years (though at 210 I am still overweight) he said I needed more exercise, traditional exercise, and less "work". I guess I'm back on the treadmill soon. Not like I don't walk enough here...
He was also somewhat surprised I could do what I do, but suggested that maybe I get a little more help with the heavy lifting. Already doing that, perhaps not enough. And he upped my nerve pain meds and told me to be careful operating machinery. Lovely. Yeah, I'm careful with where I put the bucket...
nothing new, life goes on, parts are worn but apparently serviceable...

and speaking of worn parts, I'm surprised that Kubota and others don't have kits made to rehab those FEL bushings, like oversize rings in an engine. Not using bushings originally also surprises me.

Electricians got my compressor wired up yesterday, yeah, and it fired up just fine. Challenging trying to get all the right fittings, coming out of the tank with a one inch line, dropping down to 1/2 and then the coupler. A few adapters but it all worked, going into a Dewalt air distribution box. One line will go to a coxreel type setup, reel with 50 feet of 3/8 hose to be bolted onto the wall outside of the compressor room. The door to the woodshop is only ten feet away so I can drag the air line right into the shop and use it that way, though normally it will be using impact wrenches outside on machinery.
I was pleased with how quiet the Quincy 3.5hp compressor was, ran it for an hour with the tank valve open, as instructed, to set the rings, and then it pumped right up.

pics coming, got my "old" full size camera out. Never lost that one yet...

44F now high mid 70's,another super spring weather day.
Just like clock work male turkeys gobbling fanning and ladies showing no interest.

Enjoy the day all.

you sure are right. The clear forecast we had is now changed to rain or thunderstorms Thursday night straight through next Tuesday. And a high of 87 degrees early next week here, the weather breaks, and cooler air from our friends up North falls down like Mother Nature's air conditioning and gives us some clear beautiful days like we have had recently.

Just a joy to be alive and outside in this beautiful, soon to be departed Spring weather.
Like Buppies and many of us I'm outside much of the day and the weather sure does matter.
Didn't for 40 years pushing a pen or a mouse...
With my helper today I'm going to plant ten shrubs and trees into Mother Earth.
Our Native Americans would approve.

60 headed to 84. Probably more rain this afternoon.

Drew, glad your bears don't like how you taste :). Sorry about the arthritis.

62 out with a nice moon this AM. Highs in the mid 80's. First thunderstorms passed us by last evening. Worked on the pool, just needs to warm up. Swallows already found it, as did a frog. Grass needs attention again. Looking forward to the w/e.

Have a safe day all!

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 50° with fog this morning. Heading to 71° with partly cloudy skies. Warm days and finally rain has made lawn spring up. Need to try and get lawn cut if it dries out.
Good Morning All.

Flip out day as we like to call it happened about a month ago. Frogs come out everywhere and the pond becomes a virtual mating ground. Now we have baby frogs everywhere
