3ph quick hitch rundown (cat 1)

I got mine about a year ago, and it isn't sloppy like in your video.

Same here -- not NEARLY as much play in the levers or brackets as shown in the video on my particular unit.

Very helpful video, but maybe the HF quality-control is low from their suppliers and there is a broad range of "quality" in the hitches from lot to lot, but mine is much more "solid" than portrayed in that particular video. My welds are also a bit cleaner and more professional-looking. It's not an i-Match, but not $300 either.

I have a Speeco quick hitch, cost a couple hundred, so in between the Harbor freight and the Landpride. I find it hold the implements nice and firm, never given me any troubles.

Have you checked out the "new" ones?

No I have not looked at one recently. They don't have one on display when I've been to the store. I think Suburban farmer hit the nail on the head. The QC is low and they have various suppliers.

And how much is the imatch? Like most things JD, I'm guessing a lot more.

They retail for $350. I got a deal on the one in the video. I also go a used one with the fixed top hook for $100.

I ended up building roll-around dollies for my implements -- except for the ballast box. This is for my M8540. I have dollies for: my 72" cutter/mower, 96" grader/scraper and forks. Being able to roll the implements around the concrete floor is nice. This of course does no good for the field or if you do not have concrete floors.

I have a Land Pride (CAT 2) quick hitch that I have not touched since I hooked it up once after I bought it. Totally useless for me. I keep wanting to sell it, then forget about it.

Out of curiosity, for those of you that expressed concern with having a "tight fit", what would be wrong with running them loose? I run most of my implements without the quick hitch bushings, so tons of slop. Never had one pull out of the hitch.

With slop you are beating your implement pins up and your quick hitch. With slop it would make it tough to grade because the implement could move freely.

Thanks. Up here, the knockoff ones are $300 so that would put the JD one at about a grand....which wouldn't surprise me any considering how expensive green paint seems to be

I wouldn't pay $1k for an imatch.

To my eye the Land Pride looks dead to rights like it is made by SpeeCo. I've seen the iMatch Cat2 next to my Cat2 SpeeCo and the Deere iMatch didn't look as heavy. The iMatch did look green.

A hydraulic top link makes a Quick Hitch the best thing since buttered bread: tip in the top and hook in, pull the top link in and latch onto the bottom 3 point lugs. Flip the locking levers and you're done.
