How do you reduce the PIA of greasing?

Thanks again for the great suggestions guys. I have the lock and lube ordered.

I have the tractors greased every 50 hours as per the dealer's recommendation. Most of the time it's done by the dealer, but I also do it.

Most of my engine time is driving and snow clearing. The zerks in question are usually on the backhoe, which has a minimal number of hours on it.

Cheers,

Jon

Loader and backhoe zerks need to be greased every 10 hours per most manufactures. Chassis zerks every 50. Loader and backhoe pins are under a lot of stress, clutch and brake pedal shafts, not so much.

I bought a Uneverco quick disconnect to replace the Lock n Lube that disappeared mysteriously when I let my son borrow it. Having experience with both of them I would say that the LnL is a lot more convenient then the Uneverco but the Uneverco is smaller and will fit into tight spaces easier. If you use two grease guns, or two hoses, the LnL would be great on flex tube and Uneverco on fixed tube gun.
That would be opulence personified, two $30 QD tips on $16 grease guns.

.... Any suggestions on improving this maintenance routine? I recall a link to a much improved grease gun nozzle. Thanks, Jon
When my wife comes in from greasing it I'll ask her if she has any suggestions for 'ya. :)

Thanks for the insight. I think you are the first person having reported experience with both. Would it be fair to say that while one may have the edge over the other in different situations, either on its own is far nicer to work with than a standard tip?

FWIW, a lock and lube fits every zero on a Kioti NX series, as well as my attachments.

I assume you mean zerk not zero... Same on my Kubota L3200. Fits everything including the ones recessed deep into the ends of the bucket pins.

The LnL is way stupidly overpriced for what it is. Especially costing up to twice what a cheap gun costs. The worst part is it would still be worth it even if cost a little bit more.

So much nicer being able to lock on no matter what & come off instantly when you want it to. The stock ones are adjustable for grip if you loosen or tighten them. They end up with 2 settings though. Fall off every time & won't stay on. Or never come off (especially on those recessed ones in the end of pins you can't tilt off of).

You know what the absolute worse thing about the LnL is? The fact I didn't invent and market it.. Now that is a crying shame!:hissyfit:

Right, using a LNL is much more convenient, about as much more as opening your beer with a pull tab vs the old way.....
