Looking at getting a new attachment for my MX5100. Looking to purchase something to help level uneven ground, build onto and maintain the drive way. Which one of these would be a better investment. I was thinking the land leveler since I should still be able to move a little dirt to get down a few inches to add onto the drive and then maintain after its all completed. Looking at picking up a 6' wide unless you guys think I should step up to 7'.

Two that I am looking at:
Land leveler with rippers
Land Leveler With Ripper Teeth

Box scraper:
Box Blade for Utility Tractors with 30 to 70 HP

The leveler is the better tool for finish work.

The Box Blade is the better tool for shaping and construction work.

You cannot move dirt with the leveler, it spills over the blades as it's designed to do.

You cannot get as smooth of finish with the Box Blade unless you are an exceptional operator.

I believe I'd go for the BB. It is more versatile.

That would be nice, but unfortunately don't have the hydraulics at the rear of the tractor. Wonder how much that would run me.

Probably more than the box blade or the grading scraper.

If you do not have rear hydraulics research ROLLOVER Box Blades in addition to regular Box Blades.

Sorry I do have two hydraulic ports which are for the back how but no controls next to the seat for them.

Looked one up and retail is about $2300

Do you have a loader? If so I would go with the grading scrapper. You can move gravel with your loader to offset not being able to move as much as a box blade. Once you are just maintaining a driveway you'll find the grading scrapper a lot more useful than a box blade.

Yes I do have a loader which is why I was leaning more towards the grading scraper with rippers.
