My Daughter's Fence

   / My Daughter's Fence #41
\Mud on my rubber boots made my boots look like clown shoes........about a foot wide.

Oh, I know that experience all too well. My problem here is getting clay on my boots, then walking through pine straw, then clay, over and over. Pretty soon there is 5 lbs of adobe hut clay mix on each foot. Great if I wanted to make bricks, but bad for working. And sometimes I am dealing with that and going up down a ladder. I have learned to just avoid those conditions if possible.

Best advice ever. Luckily the bad mud is on the outside, downhill side. The rest of the fence (besides removing forms) can be built from the inside. Majority of the mud was from us digging the footer trench.

You are a pretty amazing woman, Brandi!!

Thanks Mark. I drive my son batty when he helps me. I got to remember to slowly say what I want done. I tend to forget some folks can't keep up............or don't want to. Most of the time in big projects like these........ I have dreams about it all! Last weekend was dreaming about fixin' my daughter's truck a/c and about the fence.

You have to remember, he's just a man. Cut him a break.

Friday evening I took the forms off the concrete and loaded all concrete waste into my pickup. I'll use it for rip rap on my island/duck pond. 5-22-15 ChloE and Rebecca Inspection Concrete After Form Removal.jpg

Saturday morning I drilled and bolted the 2x4 blocks to the concrete.5-23-15 Concrete Forms Gone Fitting Base Boards.jpg

I then started the first fence panel.5-23-15 One Fence Panel Upclose.jpg5-23-15 One Fence Panel and Blocks.jpg

Between the mud sticking to my boot with Saturday's rains and working by myself, I was whipped. Yet, I did manage to get the second section panel finished. 5-23-15 Two Panels Boo's Fence.jpg
Major storms hit the area Saturday night, so I came home Sunday around noon. I'll be back at it next Friday evening.

I want to put solar powered light caps on the posts. When I am finished and the gate is installed, I'll take Rebecca to Lowes to show her the light options.

I agree with you there. Maybe in the near future they will get this all fixed.
