I agree with you there. Maybe in the near future they will get this all fixed.
That would be nice. Then I would have to think of another reason not to build an out of stater's fence.

Hiya,

The fence looks great. With all of the soil movement we have in this area, my only concern would be that the concrete base will crack and separate. Not trying to be negative. Just curious to see if you did anything to prepare.

Thanks. The concrete is about 10 inched deep with rebar in it. The bottom 2x4s are bolted to the concrete and nailed into the posts. If it cracks, I can patch it.

Hahahaha, I am surrounded by a lot of the most beautiful natural springs in the world. I am about 35 miles north of Gainesville (Home of the FL Gators) and pretty much center of the state both directions. Coming to visit?

Na, I think I'll pass. We have all that here. Springs, gators, mosquitoes, humidity. I have been TDY in Miami and Panama City. Took the kids to Disney's place and Universal Studios. So I can remove Florida from my bucket list.:D

So you have been to all the yucky places in FL.:D I live where the deer (yes small) walk across our backyard, can go fishin in the Suwannee or Santa Fe rivers, go kayking in rivers, lakes, Gulf, or the atlantic is just 2 hours away. Camping galore... Can you tell I don't like cities?

Manor dodged all rain until a few drops Saturday evening. That gave me enough time to finish the fence panels. I still need to install post caps (maybe solar lights) after cutting to final height. Build and install the gate. I'll build it here next weekend and install it in two weeks. When we installed the end posts we put them as close to the neighbor's posts as possible. But their excess use of concrete ( even after breaking off the top edge) left me with a 12 inch gap at one end and 18 inch gap at the other end. So, I have to cut wire panels to fit these gaps. 5-30-15 Rebecca's Back Wire Fence In.jpg I will staple them with 1 & 3/4 staples. This is what the neighbor used at the bottom of his fence.

In the back of my mind, I keep getting the thought I should have made the concrete base wider and completely surround the posts. Oh well.

Maybe one more trip to Fl. is in order to see the area you are talking about. How far are you from Tampa? I have a friend there.
