Stolen truck

You know, there's a good reason they used to hang horse thieves.

I know how you feel. I had my Cutlass 442 stolen twice in 3 days. When I got it back & restored, I added a kill switch and a stainless steel steering column.

I'd just done $4500 worth of work to the truck as well.

This is going to be a huge pain in the butt.

Anybody had any experience with dealing with the insurance company on something like this?

It's been quite a few years ago when we had a teenage daughter who rolled and totaled the car I'd bought for her. So of course the insurance company wanted to only pay low blue book for it, but when I went to see the adjuster with a list of the things I'd recently done to the car such as new tires, new battery, and a number of other things, the adjuster didn't hesitate at all to up the price to what I asked for.

I'll keep my eyes open. My tower cameras can cover a lot of ground.

Man that sucks. We're right down the road from ya and I have your trucks younger brother. Hits close to home. Good luck with the search. If you have any jobs lined up and I'm free I can haul for you if needed.

Thanks, I really appreciate that.

Man that bites. I've personally had 2 cars stolen. The first was "recovered" stripped of all the good parts including my tool box and snorkel gear. Insurance only ponied up a few hundred bucks.

The second vanished into thin air i had to provide the comps but in the end they payed out well above the actual value of the car. In your case like my second case rariety confers value. So make sure they know exactly what you had..
7.3 etc.

Frankly the hardest thing is getting over feeling paranoid about it and grumpy at the world....but remember there are way more people who will help you out than screw you over imho...hang in there.

I wish I could say it's the first time something has been stolen from me. It's the first time I've lost a vehicle but we've had a well pump stolen out of a 250' deep well, copper ripped out of a house vandalizing it so badly that it had to be demolished, equipment stolen off of trucks, stuff stolen out of my shop by employees and on and on. Most of the time, it's cost me out of pocket, actually this will be the first time insurance will be involved for me. I generally don't care all that much about "stuff" and while it really irritates me to have someone else walk off with it, I know it's just "stuff" and it can be replaced. What bothers me so much about this one is that replacing it is going to be so difficult.

A part of this truck can never be replaced, we took family RV trips to the river and Colorado and other road trips all over the place. There have been a lot of "adventures" had in that truck and that's probably the part that bugs me the most. I'll figure out another tow vehicle once I get a settlement worked out but it'll never be the same.

Oh well, so goes life.

You can see they dropped something outside where the car was parked, also did local law enforcement try enhancing the photo ? Good luck
