Maybe you can reach them thru the brakelight holes.
or he could raise the bed and then crawl into the the hole from the top and tighten them.

I wonder how the dot officer will feel about having to get that greasy to check his slack adjusters??
hmmmm sounds like a few tickets to me!

I haven't got around to putting the plate on yet but I have been practicing with my new welder. I think it should hold fine.

bdog those welds at the top might hold if you weld the bottom of that plate to the brake spring covers

Filling the gaps with BONDO should complete the job nicely.
Stir in a bit of crazy glue for added strength and you'd be good to go.

I've seen that done before. We were building a lot of equipment for the new Satsop Nuclear Power Plant. We were way behind schedule. Company hired a bunch of kids right out of welding school. Their welds were horrible:eek:! We were told to run caulking over their welds to smooth them out before the equipment went to the paint booth.

Bdog - Thank you for sharing your welding experience. I have shared your post with family and friends and they are now enjoying train journeys.

Did you get proficient at 'stacking dimes' with the caulking gun?

You know I'm actually pretty good with an electric caulking gun. I got stuck building 200 of these. Had to caulk all the way around the windows. I know you've seen these all around Seattle.

Looks to me like a shelter designed for two Lincoln SA200's.
