I know you guys are correct - in greeting folks with a loaded gun. That's why the discussion with local LEO before you do something- anything- as I stated.
Interesting fact - I lived in AK for 20+ years and the laws there, regarding this, were truly "wild west". You had to be careful as you traveled around because up there trespassing was considered the same as breaking & entering into somebody's house with the intent to do physical harm.
A person was allowed to defend his property with the use of deadly force. This could have changed now - I was there in the early '60's & '70's. Thing may be "all civilized" now.
