Cordless Pole Saws

   / Cordless Pole Saws #21
Trust me on this one guys. I've had gas powered pole saws and always had problems with them. I'm not a big fan of anything cordless when it comes to heavy duty work like cutting wood. I buy pro-grade chainsaws, etc.

However...in this case I purchased this Black and Decker Cordless Pole Saw and couldn't be happier. I would normally never buy anything with Black and Decker as the brand name as they usually make pretty lame stuff. But this saw cuts like butter. I've cut limbs that were 8 inches around and larger. My wife uses it a lot and its light enough that she doesn't get worn out using it. You don't have to deal with the exhaust heat like on a gas powered. I purchased the rapid charger and an extra battery and it will charge a battery in the time it takes to wear the current battery down. The only cheesy thing is you have a squirt bottle of bar oil to oil the chain. On the other hand, the gas powered pole saws had an oil reservoir and they always leaked oil all over my garage after they had sat for some time. So I actually like the squirt bottle better in this case.

So all in all I really like this B & D unit. My dad was the first in the family to buy one and he raved over it. So if you're looking for powerful, light-weight, excellent cutting ability and it breaks apart and is stored in the included bag, then get yourself one.

I have that one too, and like it. It cost less than $100, and a fresh battery will do lots of cuts. I
oil the chain, do some cuts and quit before the juice is gone.

I have hours behind me with a gas-powered polesaw, incl a top-of-the-line Stihl. They are just too
heavy and exhausting. Pun intended.

I bought and used a Greenworks 40v cordless pole saw, works harder than I do, does lots of work, worth every penny I paid for it. (about $180 with charger and battery)

....and it even has a chain oiler. Nice. Greenworks even has 80V lithium-ion power tools, including
a polesaw. Never seen one myself, but they sure look like winners.
