For $25 spent the analysis can show what the oil contains, PPM of various metals and a through report of the extent of damage done. This can be a valuable aid to the OP in pressing his case to have Kioti do more than a single piston repair, and for Kioti to make an intelligent decision about whether to offer a rebuilt or new engine instead of a repair. I doubt they will offer to swap out for a different engine due to lack of obligation since the warranty has past. One can argue all day long about Texas lemon laws, etc., but that doesn't change a thing, IT FAILED AFTER expiration of the manufacturer's warranty. That mean no matter what happened, or why, or when, inside the engine is IRRELEVANT to now.
Hope this helps clarify...
This is part of the problem, you don't seem to grasp; it's NOT got anything to do with what you think should be done, or what you think would be appropriate. It ONLY has to do with what Kioti is WILLING to provide to the OP. End of story. Forget Texas lemon law, and everything else that can be conjured up; ALL IRRELEVANT. Lemon laws apply to things that can't be fixed numerous times during warranty. There IS NO warranty, nothing failed numerous times. Sit back and wait for Kioti's determination; the ONLY thing that matter's here. The mere fact that Kioti IS stepping up is huge in this situation for the owner of an expired warranty tractor.
Sorry, NOT so. The ONLY course of action is the one Kioti determines and agrees to with it's customer, who owns: see above.....
