What's the heaviest tag trailer you have pulled with a 3/4 ton?

I am a big fan of goosenecks for heavy loads. In fact I got rid of nearly all my tag trailers in favor of goosenecks. I have towed Over 10k pounds many times on a tag trailer behind a 3/4 ton and it worked but I didn't like it near as much as a gooseneck.

Anyway I now have a tag equipment trailer rated for 21k with a pintle hitch. I primarily got it to pull behind either of my dump trucks but thought has crossed my mind to pull it behind my pickup in a pinch. Certainly not a regular thing and not at max capacity. The trailer probably weighs 6k empty and I would haul either my skid steer or backhoe which are around 8,500lb each so the gross would be 14-15k.

I see they make 20k rated pintle hooks for 2" receivers and the receiver on my truck is custom built into my flatbed and is good for that amount of more.

I have been checked by the DOT numerous times and I have never seen them question or ask about manufacturers gross weight ratings. I know I have been over when checked and no ticket. All they seem to care about is that you are not over axle weights, tire weights, or registered weight.

If you had a trailer that was rated and registered for that much weight and it didn't put your pickup axle or tires over weight I don't think they would give you a ticket.

My Nissan has a 3/4-ton rating (remember the old Toyota and Nissan dually trucks?).

The heaviest I've pulled was about 8,500-lbs here:

No, I never went very fast. I think I got up to a top speed of about 35 MPH.

My truck is able to pull the Kubota much easier (roughly 4,000-lbs less) and feels safe at 50 MPH.

It's no Super Duty truck, but it also did not cost me a Super Duty bank loan.

Noticed I was towing heavy but otherwise, no problem.
