Massey Ferguson 4608, Ford 5900
Finally finalized everything and got my new 4608 Friday afternoon. It wouldn't fit on my trailer and dealer said it'd be monday before he could deliver so I just drove it home. 6mile ride wasn't to bad. It doesn't ride like a caddy lol. I've put 6 hrs on it so far mainly skidding logs clearing a spot for the new barn because the old barn isn't tall enough. Taking some getting use to the hydro shuttle shift after mainly using a hydrostat. So far it's handled everything I've thrown at it and it makes short work of things compared to the old L3200hst.

Thanks again to all of those that helped me on my decision. I believe Massey was the best pick and the fact of no DPF is awesome.

Beautiful Tractor, that is what mine wants to be when it grows up.

How do you like the AgcoPower engine so far?

Hard to say but so far it is great. Starts easy. Only time will tell. Some folks said it was really loud. Its louder than the Kubota M7060 but to me isn't any louder than normal. Its no louder than my old l3200.

I was looking at the 2600 series but there was only about 3k price difference and I'd rather pay the extra 3k for the 12x12 trans, extra 6 gpm hydraulics, extra remote, 540/1000 pto, added weight, and I know there's more but can't think of them off the top of my head. I do miss the compact size of the l3300 but I know after some more seat time I'll be use to the full size and wont miss the compact size. I was so limited with that l3200.

Good choice, the 46xx series is built by Iseki, and much, much nicer than the 26xx series. Nice looking tractor!

If I remember right I think the 2600s where the models that almost scared me away from Massey..seemed like lots of people complaining and having problems. I couldn't find any complaints on the 4600s and everyone says they're made by iseki in Japan vs 2600s r made in I wanna say china..correct me if I'm wrong I can't remember off the top of my head. I wanted to call in sick at work today so I could have some more seat time!

I believe Brazil. Yeah, Iseki builds my Massey's too, and they've been fantastic.

Yup I do believe you're right it's Brazil. I have a friend that has a 1600 series..wanna say 1643..he's owned for about 5 years. Had one issue out of the 4wd but dealer fixed it and he hasn't had a problem since. He says he wouldn't trade his for nothing...except for a cab tractor..his old age has him thinking twice about that open platform. I'm sure 30+ years from now when I get retirement age I'll regret not having a cab to but as of right now I'm happy with the open platform

The 2600s are built in India by an organization much bigger than Iseki. Granted the 2600s are basically a 60 year update of the Ford 8N, they are of better quality than the 4600s. In the 4600 case, you truly get what you pay for compared to the other manufacturers.

Both TAFE and Iseki have apparently been building tractors since 1961... and both have pretty extensive building experience. I've seen plenty of complaints about the 26xx series, both directly from folks and from various readings online. I've read about people nearly swearing off Massey because of the 26xx tractors. Please explain how the 2600's are better than the 4600's. What do you mean about "you get what you pay for" with the 4600's ...? Not trying to argue with you ... just curious as to your statement.
