Cannot find correct PTO shaft replacement.

This tractor is so beat that the serial numbers are almost un recognizable. Due to the sheet metal, it makes me believe it is an early diesel (65-66 or so) but even then, I have looked through every part number for a Ford 2000 PTO shaft and none are correct, either too long or wrong input spline. Thank yall for the help and comments so far.

sounds like you tried this:

Shaft, PTO rear. Length 29-1/2", 6 & 10 spline. For 2000, 2310, 231, 233, 234, 2600, 2610, 2810, 2910, 3000, 333, 334, 335, 3600, 3610, 3910, 531 (Part No: C5NNA728A)

to the OP.. are yo sure it is an 8spd and not a 6 sped?

just looking at ford pto shafts. I don't see anything under 28", including SOS models.

Dexta are 6 speed, but 3 cyl diesel available, their pto shaft # is 957E725, but I can't find a size spec.

OP. post a picture / pictures of your tractor.

I didn't guess, I asked two clarifying questions. From his original question, I could not tell he was asking about an internally lubricated part. My second post was a clarification on that point.

Because so many tractors have 26" long external PTO shafts.

That is the one I tried. As soon as I figure this picture posting thing out, I will post a picture of my tractor. Thank you all for the help. I apologize if I was not as descriptive as I could have been.

And yes my mistake, it IS a 6 speed. Here are the other pictures I have of the housing and bearing. I can get better pictures in a few days when I head back towards the farm.

Second picture shows how far back the bearing has come un-pressed and also Im guessing where the snap ring use to go.

When he mentioned rear end, bearing, and 6/10 spline count, it was clear that he was talking about the tractors pto shaft and not an external driveshaft. Again, that's what me and Rick are pointing out. There was sufficient context to id the part.. ( if you know what your talking about)......

Based on the photo, I suspect this is not the first time it failed, the ding marks are likely a attempt to lock the bearing in place by peening with a chisel.

If this is the only issue with the shaft I'm sure a good machine shop could repair for a hours labour.

This seems to be my next course of action.
