I've never been in a position to drop the coin on a good saw, but I have done really well by getting Oregon's Professional series chains for my two Craftsmans. I use the VXL series chain, and the difference between it and the stock chain is night and day. The stock chain I am rocking the saw back and forth to cut faster. The Oregon VXL chain cuts like a hot knife through butter. I simply let the weight of the saw control the speed. My buddy sharpened up his Stihl and we both cut through the same log at the same time, and my saw beat his by a good bit. The key is low kickback chain (stock) vs non-low kickback. I have to mail order the VXL chains, as no one carries them around me. They are $13 a piece at Amickssuperstore.com, so I buy 3 for $40 and I'm set for a few seasons. I figure when my Craftsmans give up the ghost, I'll be at the Stihl dealer. Can your wife call my wife?!!!

The only safety chain that leaves my shop on a saw is the new chain on the new saw that I just sold. Any replacement chains are non safety, and full chisel if they are not the 3/8 lp chains.

How do you get your wife to go into a stihl dealership with you?

She likes going to the Stihl shop as much as I do, she likes her Stihl trimmer and leaf blower.

I have a great wife, she bought me my L45 TLB for Christmas 3 years ago without me knowing about it. My JD backhoe was just about on its last cylinder and a rebuilt motor was not cheap so she worked a deal with the Kubota dealer and got a better deal than I was offered the several times I tried to buy one from them. She even got them to deliver it Christmas morning.

I am a novice when it comes to chainsaws and the chains that go on them but I know 3/8 full chisel on the 441 sure cuts faster than the .325 on my MS250.

I like the husky brand of chainsaw never had a problem and they cut good.
The dealer I use also sells Huskys, he likes them but uses Stihls for his tree service. I know if he sells it he believes in it. I did note the Husky 70cc saw was about $100 cheaper than the 441.

I just got my 441 cm magnum a few months ago. Amazing saw!! Back when, I had my tongue wrapped around an eyetooth trying to get a tiny screw started on one of my saws when the wife asks if I wanted to buy a new saw. Without thinking I said "No thanks, I already have 3". I instantly realized what had happened. Wives should not be allowed to talk when we are fixin a saw!

The home owner rule TK is that you can have up to 5 chainsaws....or at least that's what my wife says as the standard in the United States. ( I looked it up but I couldn't find this standard. Perhaps it had something to do when i used to have 20? )

Never heard that rule. Don't tell my wife, I don't want to sell any.

I 'think' I have 7 counting the one I ran over, a junker given to me, and a couple shelf queens.
