NAPA (WIX) filters, lubricants, hydraulic fluid, and Delo 400 all all the way. 50 years in their pocket, not changing now. Any part I can get w/o using expensive Kubota branded items NAPA usually can bail me out unless it is made in Kubota's factory. They outsource all the common stuff.

Agree wix is quality and use em but for hydraulic fluid SUDT2 all the way for me.... I'm a believer as I can tell a difference in HST.

Not to beat a dead horse, but suggest using genuine Kubota parts and fluids with the exception of motor oil and then I use either Amsoil or Mobil one. The cost of the tractor is not worth cheaping it out on using generic parts. I have been on this site for 12 years or so and I'm guessing that this subject has come up at least that many times.

The horse is dead?, say it ain't so, who killed that horse, I want names, heads will roll. I still had question's, statements, concerns, and opinion's about that horse.

I've been sold on Wix oil filters for 30 years, ever since a mechanic I knew took half dozen top brand filters apart. Someone in here mention that Wix make's a filter for my L3400, anyone know the cross no. for it? The Kubota filter no. I have is (HH164-32430) if Wix is the same price, I'd buy it all day long if I can find it online. I'd even buy a Napa brand if I can buy it from the comfort of my couch/office, any three of these I'd buy for the best price. I use know a horse called, A dollar saved is a dollar earned.

Yeah, I've seen the bad mouthing of Wix, and just let it go. I was responsible for 30 generators at a major prison system for a long time. We had all three major brands. They were legally required, life safety machines. The court would eat you alive, AND hold you responsible if one of these things 'burped' and someone got hurt, or worse. You think that wouldn't happen, don't you? If you give a bunch of inmates 30 seconds of unplanned dark, they WILL take advantage of it!

What I found, during this period, was that one of the major players bid out his branded filters annually, and usually it would be Wix that won the bid. Cummins had their own, Fleetguard.

I had to make completely certain that when I put a filter on these engines, that they would meet, and exceed the OEM if it were not OEM.

Wix was used most years as they won the bid and could deliver on time. I've used Wix (NAPA) ever since with no twinge of conscience.

The Kubota dealer is a 45 minute drive, NAPA is 2 miles also contributes to that decision. My opinion: if it is cheaper, or more convenient to use Wix, you have nothing to be ashamed of, a high quality product that will always 'meet and exceed'.

Remember NAPA's discount system also when making economic decisions. No reason to pay the shelf or over counter price. They have the following pricing: shelf/counter, military, fleet, AAA, re-seller (garages). For my military discount my dealer goes with the largest of either military or fleet, their two best discounts. You have to ask. I always use the counter guys/gals so they get to know me and they find stuff I would never find.

I have used their 85-405 hydraulic fluid and can find, see, hear no difference after over 1500 hrs. Their specification is the same as K's. K's is made by Valvoline; I called them one day on whim, they admitted to making the K but were tight lipped but by engaging the guy in conservation he as much as admitted the K oil was one of their standard products. I buy the NAPA oil at over 1/2 the price as the K oil. As I work my BX pretty hard I change fluid religiously. The shop foreman at my K dealer says they have no evidence from tearing down many HSTs, that not using their SUDT2 has any affect.

The prices at the USA Dealers are much more reasonable for Canadians, that's why I buy all fluids/filters from a Kubota dealer in Ohio when I'm there. Usually for at least 2 changes.
