How do you store a chainsaw so it will not leak bar oil.

I have Husqvarna, Echo, McCulloch and Remington electric. All leak bar oil.

I don't know if my saws leak or not. I think it is just oil I spilled filling them up running off the saw. They don't leak that bad, and it really isn't that big of a problem. I just set then on a metal shelf in the garage. After you see my grandpas equipment you would feel bad for even asking how to make a chainsaw stop leaking. He just says "oil is cheap".

Figure out where they are leaking from and store them with that part up.

I tried different position with little success so far. Next I will try to hang them bar pointing up and report back.

Mine tend to run out of gas and bar oil near the same time. Usually, I put them away empty because I know they'll leak out where it oils the chain. I never fill them before I store them just for that reason. However, sometimes I need to do a quick job, so I just put in enough fuel and oil to complete the task, but I can count on some oil in the storage case.

I would guess that if you stored it on its left side, it wouldn't leak out the right. Might be worth a try.

I have the same problem of the chainsaw leaking oil, but I always store mine with the chain brake engaged, it's a Stihl though so it might be different.
It's not like there's hardly enough oil to worry about but just enough to make a mess on the shed floor.

I use a hard shell case, just wipe the bottom out once in a while.

Ive always heard its from pressure build up in the tank after running it. It heats up oil and causes pressure. Open cap to relieve pressure, put cap back on. I've never tried it though. Post if this works. I'll try it next time I use my saw if I remember. LOL

As far as the remington, I'm pretty sure that's a design "feature" because the directions tell you to drain the tank before storing to prevent spills.
