Morning All.
I have recently brush cut about 15 acres that hasn't been cut in about 20 years.
There were many trees that were about 2-3 inches and larger in diameter. Now that the area is cut, I am left with thousands of small cut trees and branches.
Way too much to pick up by hand. What is the best way to clear this up?

Thanks,
PuJo

A grapple would be my choice. Are there stumps left above the ground? If you can drive over it with a tractor, I guess you could use a box blade or rake, as long as it won't get snagged on stumps. But it would be slow. Or just let it rot over time, perhaps spraying it regularly with herbicide to keep it clear until you can bush hog it and chop it up . Guess it depends on what you want to do with the area, how big a hurry you're in, and your budget.

No many stumps left. Most of them are either cut at or below ground level.
I have plenty time, just cleaning the property, no plans as of yet.

I do not have a grapple, so maybe just the box blade.

Is it in an area where you could have a controlled burn in the spring? Would get rid of the brush weeds and possibly the stumps as well as put nitrogen back in the soil.

Push them into piles with front end loader or back blade. When you get all you can in one pile, burn it and move to the next area.

I plan to burn them in the spring.
It's way off the beaten pass, but I will contact the local fire dept in advance.

I guess using the loader, and blade would do the trick, just going to take a while...
But that's half the fun isn't it??

I guess my overall goal is to get the area clean, and get the grass (not weeds) to grow.

Buy a Ratchet Rake for your bucket from the T-B-N store.

Ratchet Rake on your bucket is really effective at piling timber debris, prying out <3" stumps and light grading after brush has been removed. Much, much more effective than a 3-Pt. mounted Rear Blade or Landscape Rake.

I would favor burning piled brush.

Cool, I have a tooth bar with 4" teeth that was installed at the dealer. It only has one set of teeth but I think I can get it to work like the video.
Thanks!

No, you cannot.

Tooth Bar is not a substitute for a Ratchet Rake.

For $400 buy a Ratchet Rake. Fifteen acres contains a lot of debris. You will be glad you disgorged for the Ratchet Rake.

Ok, thanks for the insight.
I am saving to purchase a set of 12-14 foot disc at the moment. It will have to wait till I get the disc first.

Thanks,
