Mine does not "roll" as much as Paul's does in the video. Odd

My TYM T503 HST has a 3 position switch for how abrupt it wants to stop when the pedals are released. When using the mower, I'll put it on the least responsive position so the tires don't cut up the ground and making nice easy stops, but when using the FEL to move dirt, it's on the most, reason being, if left in the least responsive position it will bog or kill the engine before the HST releases, (depending how aggressive I am), also use this position when I'm trying to ease up to something like implements.
My BX24 it is very abrupt, so it's all depends as to how you modulate the pedals, it makes it really nice to mow a large ditch with the grooming mower, it will back down as slow as I want, and hold that position while I swap pedals.

I don't know why Paul is making a big deal out of it now and not 30 videos ago unless it's for more views on YouTube. Cause if you watched his other videos he's said that he wouldn't change anything on it an kubota did a top notch job building it an it's the perfect little tractor. Now when everyone else is complaining about it not stopping all of a sudden he says it's unsafe. it's not like he only spent 2-3 hrs on it as he has a good amount of time running it. Don't see why he has never asked the dealer about it cause he said he's good friends with them.

Well that is pretty neat -never knew they made a selectable HST like that. Would be nice if more machines came with that. It would take care of issues like this!

Grand L Kubota's have a fully adjustable control for response.

Didn't know that - always looked at the more basic work model and skipped the "Grand" versions as they served our needs. That is a nice feature - Thanks for the info!

My neighbor's BX-25D definitely rolls more freely than other Kubotas I have driven when you let off the HST treadle. However, after playing around with the treadle with my foot *and* testing how the tractor behaves on a hill when stopped, I am convinced the behavior is due to the treadle springs/damper and not inherent to the HST. Free rolling only happens as you let off the treadle after moving forward. From rest, on a slight hill with foot off the treadle, the tractor doesn't just roll off on its own, meaning the HST is holding it back then.

For anyone that doesn't like the treadle behavior, look into tweaking/adjusting/replacing the treadle damper or the centering springs. This stuff is part of the external linkage, and not internal to the HST.

I feel that the centering cam in the trans could be changed. The rev. angle of the ramp is real steep by looking at the picture of it and that is the way it seems. Kubota might look there and not trying to fix it by adding shooks and putting adjusting sloots, springs that so hard to get at.

[/My BX25D-1 does. I stopped on slight paved incline and kept tapping reverse and it would roll forward when it centered and tap reverse and it would roll forward when pedal centered over and over and over. This also isn't my first HST.:)B]

Drove (and bought) a BX2370 yesterday. The stopping was fine. I don't think I would want it to stop any faster. My Dealer said the stopping distance was increased because previous BX owners complained it stopped too fast/harsh.
He also said it is adjustable (to some degree) at the diverter valve (?). I would have to look in the shop manual to confirm if this is true. I have read about adjustments to the HST pedal centering spring and damper, but no one mentioned anything about a diverter valve adjustment. I would expect if this was adjustable there wouldn't be any complaints from Paul Shorts (or others).

Anyways I have my first Kubota coming Wednesday!
