70 this morning and headed to 74 today with rain. Only .1" over night. Looks like most of the heavy stuff moved west of me. This will definitely slow down combines as the stover will be too wet.

Houses are ready for birds and a balmy 92*. Probably humid too. Now waiting on chicks to show up. All 94,000. Then I guess it's a cleaning day as it'll be too wet to do much else. Need to drag out disk and grease it. Think I might be able to get it in the ground after this rain. Need to work up winter pasture.

Had more calves yesterday. Now over the 50% calved mark.

now I see it, they'll have to put little masks on all the cows. With a built in catalytic converter changing
the bad stuff back to water I presume. Don, now how well would that work? Kev, coming at you...junior sizes available.
Oh, and yeah, your sheep too Eric. Rebreathers for all of them. Modern science and government at work for you.
and just think of all those little chickens, gazillions of them. i'm sure all those masks will stay on just fine.

Good Morning all, 73 here going to 84 and rain off and on all day. Went back to the fertilizer store to pick up my pallet of 21-0-21 and discovered my FEL wont lift 1125 lbs. Luckily it will hold it, just not lift it. So a little wiggle with tilting and I got it unloaded and put away under cover. Then changed over to the bucket and went to the back of the house and raised it up so my wife could clean off the deck with junk that collects on a deck over time. 2 bucket loads to the dump trailer... It's been a while. So today I am off to the dump.

Don, yes my wife is very familiar with FOK and we have eaten many a fine meal from their recipes. I think she has a couple of the cookbooks plus what she downloads. Hope you fun with the classes and reap the rewards from your wifes cooking that I get from mine. They do a lot of India type cuisine that I don't care for, but other than that it is great! :thumbsup:

Drew, trying to picture in my head a tail pipe sticking out with the tail... And once processed will the fertilizer work as well? Hmmm, Inquiring minds want to know. I figure mine will cost more than the standard issue because I have the compact sports model.

Farmer, I am so ready to go out and set my winter pastures, I have seed, fertilizer, clear fields, what I don't have yet is cooler weather. I would go ahead and disc it but I cover my seeds with a drag harrow and the ground needs to be a little fluffy and the rains compact. So how many calves do you have now? I hope to have 3 this time next year which will equal 1 of yours. :laughing:

Drew, now this is the 4th bad thing for Lexington Tx this week - CNN trying to criminalize their livelihood. The BBQ place they are talking about , "Snows", got #1 spot in Texas BBQ a few years back and sells out before noon every Saturday.

Kev. I'll disc and roll with a packer. Spread seed then roll again.

I'm up to 7 of 13. Will have 16 to turn with bull on December 1.

Farmer, propane companies here keep folks with 1 500 gallon tank on a auto fill program. I'll look up the cost.

Good luck on the boat today, Drew. Hopefully the patina can be dealt with economically and that's all that's wrong with it. But now with Carl Icahn beating the gloom and doom drum, don't look for any quick turnarounds in the S&P, especially after yesterday's Goldman downgrade. And sorry, I couldn't finish wading through all the pseudo-science in that CNN article. But it did get me thinking about a nice New York strip for dinner. :laughing:

Many of the VA contingent are taking quite a bath in the recent rains. Hope it doesn't turn into too much of a good thing!

I was looking at new dishwashers earlier this year as well, WNG. Got so discouraged at the wide spread reports of early failures and spotty quality I decided to stick with the 8 year old one I already have until it quits. Let us know how you do with your new one, OK?

Watched this week's 60-Minutes episode last night with the Putin and Trump interviews. I found both fairly evasive, and came away thinking that the world would be better off without either of them.

More garage tinkering on the agenda for today, as the temperatures have dropped enough to be comfortable out there.

I have tried to get a meal at Snows while visiting txdon. No luck. Maybe I better get in line early this year on my way out west before they become extinct. By the way. Contrary to what writer stated. There are still a lot of SUV's.
