Here is some more data to throw into the ring. I have the first model year
BX25, which I believe was in 2008 or 2009. I got one of the first ones available to the dealer when it came out as a new model, replacing the
BX24. And I remember they made a big deal in the manual about how the abrupt stop had been eliminated. And, fortunately for me, I have no problem with it coasting after I let my foot off the HST pedal. So, Kubota obviously does (or did) know how to do it right, and so it seems that they just screwed it up again later.
Also, I am not 100% clear on whether the BX 25D, as opposed to the BX 25D – 1, does not have the creeping problem. Looking through the many posts here, I don't recall seeing someone definitively
saying that they don't have the problem AT ALL with the BX 25D. In the meantime, however, I would never ever buy a tractor that does not stop dead when I let my foot off the HST pedal, and I will stick with my (now seven year-old BX 25D. It is an amazing tractor, and I've had no problems at all with it, other than a bit of leaky tires.
Good luck figuring this out, guys! I do not envy you.
