They delivered it Friday afternoon. Got it in the barn to inspect a little. Radio had no power, radio antennae was missing, loader hoses were tight against the exhaust stack, loader hose bracket was installed wrong and you couldnt even mount my loader on it. So...2 hours later I get the hose bracket fixed CORRECTLY, which also fixed the hose on the exhaust issue. Dealer came this morning, power wire had came undone on radio, quick fix. I just don't get the uncaring, incompetency nowadays. Not got any seat time yet due to this monsoon but I can tell you this engine is WAY quieter, service guy says its the new injector pumps which eliminates the injector knock? Still unsure on the regen/dpf but once I get some hours on it I will report back.

I like the tier4 engine. It quiet for sure and still puts out power. My tractor did a re-gen at 55 hours. It took 15 minutes and the engine went back to normal.

My question is this, the service guy said if im bush hogging and see the light come on i need to cancel it and then when im done put in park and restart the regen in park. I thought and according to the manual, it will regen while I am using it in auto mode. He says no because it will rev the engine to wide open in the last stage and will overwork the implement. I was going to start a thread on the regen experience with these tractors. I know my trucks have to regen but you just drive them until its done, no real notice in any changes to rpm, etc. I would assume the tractors are no different.

Just bought a 5055E this summer, ran a special on a cab model and I jumped on it. First use the radio died and the fuel gauge went haywire. Dealer comes installs new radio and fuel gauge is working. Next use fuel gauge quits, dealer comes and replaces sending unit. Next use the lift arm stops working and a cable has came off the actuating arm, search for hours for metric thread nut to fix it, 4 hours later i fix it. Then a week ago clutch slips horribly, dealer comes and picks it up. Yesterday he calls and says its not slipping. I go to dealer today and sure enough it wont slip but oil is everywhere underneath. I suspected a rear main seal leak causing clutch slippage. Finally at my suggestion he removes the plug from the clutch housing and oil pours out. Now its break it in half and see what needs repaired. Im at the end of my rope with this tractor. Almost eveytime I use it something breaks, now they want to split the cases and go see what they can find. Im at the point I think JD should own the tractor, I didnt pay for a repaired tractor and its been nothing but trouble. Considering telling JD to keep the darn thing. Am I wrong here, any suggestions? Tractor has 40 hours on it.....


I had a kioti that was nothing but issues. I had to get the AG involved because corporate wasn't listening it spent more time at dealers and dead in the driveway then work.
This time paid more on a Kubota l 4060 love it I had a bad seal they split under warranty. The dealer came out a few times to fix little things like a hoes that was leaking . They been great. I did like the kioti and some of what it offered like the leaver on the back to raise and lower 3pt hitch. The kubota on the other hand starts right up and I love the power and I love ever sec of my seat time.

I'm surprised the new John Deeres and Kubotas are still using DPF's. Had one on my truck (removed it), what a pain in the ***. MF, Fendt, Deutz, and I believe the new NH's do not use DPF's on their tractors. No regen, no excessive fuel burning, no giant expensive filter to replace. They use diesel exhaust fluid only, and so far mine has hardly used any in 50 hours. I think diesel truck manufacturers have switched from DPF to DEF as well, much less to go wrong.

My diesel trucks (Chevy duramax, Ram cummins) had the dpf AND the def, pretty sure thats the norm now and as tractors progress to a final Tier 4 it will have both as well, interem tier 4 is dpf only, thats my understanding.

regen doesn't change rpm's on 5085

Thats good to know, I thought he was wrong about park regen, im sure in a park regen it has to up the rpms.

After an all night set on the concrete in the barn, I discover a puddle of fluid, appears to be antifreeze. I crawl under to investigate and see they also had removed a bolt that held a bracket for all the fuel lines, now fuel lines are rubbing the block...:mur:, called the dealer hes sending me a bolt, I guess I'm going to try to find the mysterious antifreeze leak and hope its just a hose clamp....beyond frustrated. Where is the quality control? You would think with the issues I have already had they would have went over this tractor with a fine tooth comb to be sure there were zero issues.
