Thanks guys, Footing is down about 4- 5', we have to go down at least 4' due to frost. I also used a scissor truss for extra height.
First pic is excavating by, what was, the old Bank side of the old barn so its deeper than 5' before we took the rest of the bank away
we have a lot of clay here too, which is a problem for frost heaving, so we brought in 60 dump truck loads of sand and gravel to back fill
